Just wanted to start a thread about the 'World's coolest festivals'. There are so many people on this site from all over the World, that I am curious to know what people consider their all-time favorite festival!

Mine would have to Be:

1.) Burning Man

2.) Black Rock Desert in Nevada, USA

3.) The week before Labor Day every year (29th August-5th September in 2005)

4.) "Trying to explain to what Burning Man is to someone who has never been is like trying to explain what a particular color looks like to someone who is blind."

5.) Around 37,000

4.) What the festival is about (music? drugs? sex? etc.): Advance music and electronic culture

5.) How many people attend: not sure but must be around 40.000

Haven't been to this one in years but it used to be really, really good:

1.) Name of the Festival: Lowlands

2.) Where it takes place: The Netherlands (somewhere on the polder)

3.) When it takes place: end of August

4.) What the festival is about (music? drugs? sex? etc.): Music (rock, pop, electronic music), theatre, arts, performances etc. Drugs, sex&rock'n'roll, everything!

5.) How many people attend: 100 000 ??

I'd love to go to Glastonbury some day.

Sonar is fantastic. I'd suggest anyone to give it a go for next year.

I'm thinking of going to Benicassim in Spain next year. Has anyone been?

Primavera also looks amazing.

Clara FIB is great, Midlife went last year and I think he was very happy, must be a review around. It's more pop orientated but it's great. The only thing I see to FIB is camping in the hot August 8O

Primavera is OK, but it's only at night and it's VERY expensive, 60€/ night 8O

Wow, there are tons of big festivals all over Europe. A lot of them look really cool....I hope I can make a few of them one day. Anybody else have a favorite that hasn't been mentioned yet? Are there a lot of big festivals in South America/Asia? Has anybody been to any of these?

3.) When it takes place: Last weekend

4.) What the festival is about (music? drugs? sex? etc.): Mainly psy-trance with tents for DnB & Breaks. Oh, and getting WASTED :twisted:
