RAM Files... Help me i'm fik!

I've downloaded phatphil's space terrace set september 2003 from soulseek but its a RAM file that won't play with WMP or burn with nero...

Any advice please?

wtf is a RAM file????

could be a real audio file...

u tried real player?

ask gecko he might know...

You need Real Player to view this little puppy.

Can I then convert it so I can burn it to CD so I can have phat phil in my car?

u need recording sofware cos it will be a data stream rather than a data file... i think...

which means rather than like an MP3 file which contains the ALL the music data - the chances are the RAM is just a link between yr computer and the music... think of it like a live radio broadcast..

if i talkin shite will somene stop me nOW! :lol:

I just went on phils site and checked the file. You wont be able to burn that to cd unless you record it first and then burn it. Chewie was right, the file was just a link to another online file so you hadnt actually downloaded any music data. IMO its too low a bitrate (quality) to warrant burning it to cd. Why not have a word with phil and see if he'd be kind enough to upload an mp3 of it for you.
 
If you open the RAM file with notepad you should see the link to the actual Real Media file. You might be able to save it disk then...
 
you need an ap that can capture anything coming through the soundcard. You can get a stream ripper from download.com

i didnt get it from his site, I got it from soulseek...
