Radio 1 weekend-questions from a virgin

Gday all,

I have booked in to be in Ibiza town for the first time over what happens to be the Radio 1 weekend. As an Ozzie, Radio 1 means little to me so what can I expect?.. I was looking at buying tickets to the Sat Aug 11th party at amnesia through this websight but a little uneasy about just getting a print out as a ticket. Is there a need to pre-buy tickets for such a weekend or should I just worry about everything once we get in (taking into account we get in on a thurs night and leave again monday!!)

My preference is for house/funky house...not so much the hardcore ot trance stuff

Any comments or advice would be appreciated,

Expect the island to be a lot busier for Radio 1 Weekend, especially where there are Radio 1 events being held obviously like at Mambo. I've never bought a ticket thru Spotlight, but i know that you won't get screwed on it. I suggest you get a ticket to the Essential Mix party if the music appeals to you. If ur a house fan, it should with Sasha, Angello & Ingrosso & Axwell all in the mainroom. It will be PACKED, even more than a normal Cream, which is amazing in itself.

Hi Pete,

The Radio 1 weekend in Ibiza draws over a few thousand UK clubbers, who come to Ibiza just for that weekend. It's a blast and generally the time when the biggest dj's are playing. Of course, it is much busier but there is just so much going on, i think it's great.

Re. buying tickets online. I work for Spotlight and can assure you that it's a very secure way of getting your ticket. You'll even get the right to go to the front of the queue with our tickets - especially a good thing over the Radio 1 weekend !

Music wise, as Terry says, you are spoilt for choice. yes, you have got banging trance in the main room but the terrace is going to be quality again this year. By the way, the terrace at Cream is massive ! It's not a little space at all :)

Go for it mate - i went to Radio 1 @ Cream last year on the Saturday to see Mylo. It was one of my top 3 nights of the summer (i worked out here all summer) and i didn't leave the dance floor all night :D

buying tickets from spotlight is even better as you can bypass many of the queues which are always bigger at the radio 1 weekend nights as they are so popular.

you cant go to ibiza without space either... sundays "we love" are great and also def mix at pacha.....
 
Yes, would defo suggest goin to Space after the Cream party wraps up!! A spectacle not to be missed! Took me 3 tries, but I finally went last year and is one of the greatest clubs EVER!!!

And on the Cream Terrace thing, the big names are actually playing the main room for Radio 1 and not the terrace as usual. So that means the house guys will be in the mainroom with the only trance guy, Eddie Halliwell. Here's the line-up thus far... could be some surprises!!

Thanks for the advice guys, sounds great...Im going to go ahead and book tickets to the CREAM party...Sounds like it should be an unreal weekend.

The Pre-party at MAMBO sounds like the go...Is that in Ibiza town or in San Ann..?


Bcoz we are staying in Ibiza Town, Im guessing there would be heaps of transport to and from Amnesia...ie. party busses ect..?

Mambo is on the sunset strip in San Antonio. There is the discobus and usually free buses from the pre-parties to Amnesia.
