good news for me. i love the cappuccino style, image and lifestyle. i never rated sidney.

no. as a response to their 'we're having djs' fb revelation I replied that I prefer chet baker to arthur baker.

i've had breakfast there, i thought it was quite nice and there was no DJ playing in the morning ;-)

qed. the reason I love caps in palma is the warm cosy glow I get from being surrounded by my contemporaries, not my children's contemporaries, which is presumably a function of the classically elegant style, choice of music (which both seem to be lacking in Ibiza) and standard of service.

I popped in with my girlfiend the other night. The music policy - lots of jazzy stuff, Bebel Gilberto, etc - was the same as you'd hear in the Mallorcan versions and the clientele pretty similar - rich, old German yachty types with leathery tans and questionable style basically.

Proper cup of tea too.

Yeah. they're pretty entertaining to watch though. They were probably high as kites in Amnesia and Ku when most of us were still in short trousers. They probably haven't even noticed Sidney's changed hands.

"...
Pete Tong's Ibiza: My Kind of Town...

Where would you meet friends for a drink?

Café Sidney used to be the place to meet, and morning, noon or night you'd always bump into promoters, DJs and friends. It was like the Soho House of Ibiza Town and it's in a fantastic spot.
It's recently changed ownership, though, so while I would still highly recommend it I would reserve judgment until I've been there a few more times. It's now called Cappuccino ...
