Questions on Hierbas

Forgive my sheer ignorance; But I have only recently heard (let alone tried) this drink, Id like, if I may to ask a few questions about it.

Firstly, - How is it drank? by the shot?, as a short? with something? on its own?

I assume you can purchase bottles of it from Eroskis etc?

How much is it for a smallish bottle?

How much roughly can you expect to pay for it in bars and hotels?

and, how is it pronounced in Spanish?!

:)

Thank you

You can drink it anyway you like but the most popular is with ice and as a shot. Its a liqueur so its primarily used as a digestive after a meal.

I think most come in 1 litre bottles costing in the range of 8-12 euro.

Its pronounced yea-bass

Brilliant, thank you.

I assume its a common drink then, and most places will sell it?

Ive google translated it, and it tranlates (obviously) as Herbs? - Asking for Heirbas (and saying yea-bass) will get me this drink then, yes?:o and not a hand full of thyme?:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Yes its very common in Ibiza ranging from €2 a glass (con heillo) to about €4. You can buy it everywhere.

I remember first ordering it and my pronouncation was way off didnt understand me so I left empty-handed had to settle for a beer instead. Yea-Bass should work for you.

My favourite is the bottle of Heirbas they give you complimentary after a meal at Sa Capella. Not a good idea to put a bottle of such tasty alcohol in front of an Irishman and tell him drink what you like,,:)

HaHa! I bet!

I remember meeting some Irish lads on my 18th in Es Cana - suffice to say I dont remember my 18th 8O

Aslong as I get the prounouciation right, thats all Im bothered about, I always frequent a Spanish bar anyway, so they'd have it!

Hopefully its part of the drinks on offer in the AI at my hotel, though!

Fantasitc, - The AI plan at the hotel im staying is lnclusive of "All local beers, wines and sprits" So id imagine that would be within that :)
