Yes, I know, I know. I've been warned to avoid Pure Pacha when **** Me I'm Famous is on as it will be crammed to the rafters with no room to dance and most of the punters will be tourist gawkers who can in no way be described as true clubbers. All in all it sounds like a ghastly place to be.
But here is my problem: Around 20 of my friends are flying in from various countries for the week of July 13 - 20 to celebrate my birthday. Most are arriving on July 14 and leaving on July 18. Most of my friends are hardcore clubbers but most are also Ibiza virgins. None of us are interested in going to San Antonio's clubs or indeed to San Antonio. We would like to avoid that completely.
I had originally designed what I regarded as the perfect clubbing itinerary (they are all gay and most are funky house addicts). With the loss of Penelope my itinerary has been screwed up as Gorgeous is no longer on Friday (and Scandal seems to have gone completely).
I want them to go somewhere really fun, busy and impressive on Friday night as it will set the tone for the whole week. I also don't want them to go to the same clubs too often--I'd like them to see Pacha. Will Pure Pacha really be a complete disaster? I've never been. We are used to over crowding here in London at DTPM at Fabric -- is it worse than that? Is there a decent alternative?
My questions:
1. Is Pure Pacha on this night going to be a complete nightmare that we will hate? Or is that an exaggeration? Is it possible to have fun even if we are seasoned clubbers?
2. Would a crowd of mostly gay London hardcore clubbers who like funky house (although there will also be Americans, Canadians and Frenchmen in attendance) prefer Gorgeous at Space or DEF MIX @ Pacha with Morales?
3. Any word as to whether Scandal is to get a new home on Sunday? I don't want to go to Space too frequently and so would rather avoid going there on Sunday as we are going there quite a bit already.
4. What is Flower Power like?
Here is my itinerary. Any comments? Advice?
Friday: Beach, BORA BORA, GORGEOUS at PENELOPE (which I think I must now change to PURE PACHA - **** ME I'm FAMOUS), MATINEE @ SPACE leaving on Saturday afternoon.
Saturday afternoon: BORA BORA (directly from Space) sleep, dinner and then go to DEF MIX @ PACHA for David Morales (Which I think I must now change to GORGEOUS at SPACE) leaving Sunday morning.
Sunday: SCANDAL at PENELOPE (which I think I must now delete -- is there another option?) or alternatively just recuperate and rest.
Monday: DC 10 followed by MANUMISSION @ PRIVILEGE and MANUMISSION CARRY ON @ SPACE (followed by BORA BORA if have energy).
Tuesday: NOTHING –
Wednesday: Beach, LA TROYA @ AMNESIA
Thursday: FAKE at SPACE. Leave
