Privilege - Not as good as it should be?

I wonder if anyone can help answer a couple of Privilege related questions? I was there for Mauro Picotto's Meganite closing party on 19th September and was seriously disappointed with the music volume in the main room. Is there any reason for this or did I just go on a 'quiet' night? The main rooms at space and amnesia are superb - clean, crisp, LOUD sound, and although Privilege has a function one sound system, it just was not comparable to either of the aforementioned clubs.

Also, the night wasn't busy enough to open the whole club, i imagine only Manumission had the drawing power for this. I would love to see it all rocking, does anyone know of (or heard any rumours of) any nights planned for next year which would likely fill it?

as far as i know, they had to put down the volume for their last parties this year, because they had a lot of complaints of their neighbours this year. i was there as well and had the same feeling. their sound system is much stronger as they actually put it during their last few nights of the season.

regarding crowded-ness, i think the main "problem" of privilege is the huge "spare" space there is apart of the main dancefloor and the cocoloco room. the dancefloors itself get well busy often, but as the spaces around the floors often aren't packed, you sometimes get a feeling it's not busy at all.

I thought exactly the same at Monza closing last week, the music was so ****ing LOW, this mean't I spent most of my night in the COCO LOCO room, which wasn't a bad thing but when the volume of the music makes you leave a main room with Luciano and Villalobos in it there is something wrong

Privilege is actually not that great a venue, I thought it was when I used to go for Manumission in 99/00 but compared to thers now it's really **** and outdated.

i have been to all the 'superclubs' in Ibiza now and certainly found privilege the most disappointing. It's a shame, cos there is a lot of potential there from what i saw, maybe they could do with a big refurb, focusing on sound insulation for a start! perhaps this would allow it to compete with space, pacha and amnesia and become one of the big players again. something definitely needs to be done otherwise i wouldn't want to go there again.

from what i hear, the cocoon opening at privilege went very well - considering how (over)crowded amnesia is on mondays, maybe they should relocate to privilege permanently:twisted:

yeah i agree, privilege is the most disappointing superclub, its just far too big and you cant feel the atmosphere.
i've always wondered...is that pool they've got in there ever used now and for what nights? can u go in?

nit picking I know but it felt better when the pool used to be lit up, when it's not it just adds to the dead atmosphere, grim.

"not as good as it should be"................is the new way of saying "not as good as it used to be", if so it's not as good as it used to be! 8O

for me it only ever worked/felt good when manumission was in there. it was the only night that could use the place to it's full potential

Ive been to Priviledge twice

Once for the Renaissance opening way back in 2001 when Carl Cox was playing of 4 decks or something stupid - amazing night, packed to the rafters etc

went this year for Monza and found the club as is described above disapointing - loads of spare space and could have a normal conversation in the middle of the dancefloor.

Not sure how it still operates given that in terms of roster it has very few standout nights apart from Monza

they do have an onsite medic though which was fortunate for us as my mrs foot was hanging apart after some bellend threw a glass towards her foot :x

this year,i was every thursday at privilege:!:and i did some Manumission on the friday...and some Silicon too(the coco loco room!!!)

COCO LOCO ROOM is the place to dance in privilege,in the morning whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo after monzaaaaaaaaaa!!!

And what is the real name of the room "la chatte agile" during Manumission ? back room:?:

Coco Loco was definitely what saved the night for me. Does anyone who was there know the name of the DJ who played for most of the night and finished the night off? I understand it may have been one of the Moreno's but not 100% about this. He rocked it though!

went to privilege twice and it was such a disappointment, won't return. last year I went to Xtravaganza (poor night, few people) and this year I tried meganite in august. though it was the main season (and picotto on the turns) you felt lonely on the dancefloor and the sound was weak and the volume low.
the problem with privilege is imho that it is the biggest club with the weakest parties (parties who draw only a small audience). and unless it is packed privilige is just a huge hangar without atmosphere.
