Price for a second trip out?

As per usual I'll be going out July/August this year, but I'd like to go out again towards the end of september probably (possibly around closing parties or just before?)
All the times I've been out twice a year has been with family so I've not had to worry about cost:oops: ;) But this one will be coming straight out of my account:cry:

On a budget what could I get flights and accomodation for if booking closer to the time? So many questions if you don't mind..

-Is it wiser to book flights for September NOW or as close to the time as possible (or when?)
-Cheapest location to stay? I usually stay in San An Bay which is reasonable (as it's not really close to anything major I guess) Am I best off remaining here or elsewhere?
-Again, is it best to book a room NOW or closer to the time? (Possibly when I'm out there in August?)
-Obviously a package holiday isn't necassary, It'd be cheaper to cut out a rep of course too. Don't need half board or anything, but don't want to stay in a Hostal either.
-There'll just be me and my girlfriend, but since we're both going on holidays earlier on in the summer, we're trying to aim for as cheap flights and accomodation as possible.

Any general tips and suggestions? And a rough estimate at cost of flights and accom. on a budget? (Not spending money)

Things I would advise are:

1. Book flights sooner rather than later. Flight prices will only go up, I booked my June and September Easyjet flights on the day they were released, they are already about £50 more expensive than that now and will only go up.

2. Re location, personally I always stay at other side of island just for the simple reason that there's not much for me in San An and I normally just get a taxi over that side once in a holiday for a trip to Khumaras, work out where you're more likely to be spending your time and then stay closer to there cos then you'll save money on taxis.

3. Book accomodation separately, there's so many sites (this one included) where you can book accomodation separate and direct with hotel. Also try www.expedia.co.uk., they have good deals.

4. You don't say when you're going in September but there's normally a date around mid-September where price of accomodation goes down, this year we're booked from 13 - 25 Sept, our first 2 nights accomodation are more expensive and then it comes down a lot cheaper for the remainder of the holiday.
 
Thanks Barbie I appreciate your reply. The only reason I tend to stay in San Antonio bay is because I have many friends who work in bars and hotels around there so it's always a pleasent place to stay. I'll definately have for accomodation elsewhere though as your right, I will save on taxi's.

If you don't mind me asking, how much are you paying per night in September for your hotel? PM me if you like.

Anyone else with some advice or other questions to answer?8)

We're staying in Bali Beach apartments booked thru this site, I can't remember exact price but I know it was about 50 euros cheaper per night for the second part of the hols.
 
This site is pretty good for San An hotels.
Also have a look at hotels on www.Lastminute.com, they tend to offer some very good discounts.
We will be in GranSol this year (San An), that one is cheap and looks quite reasonable and was also booked straight off this site.
