Prescription goggles (??)

Quick explanation;
I have quite a strong prescription for glasses (around -5) so if I go underwater with goggles (virtually impossible to wear glasses with goggles!) I can't see all that far.
Contact lens works fine with goggles, but the lens get stingy underwater, or dry and itchy on the beach, need putting in/taking out and so on.

My question - I have seen advertised goggles (like olympic swimmers) which have prescription lens (eg -4, -5 etc) so if your eyes are fairly equally matched you should be OK. Has anyone tried these and do they do the job? I reckon for £20 they could be a good buy, but if there are any probs with them I'll stick with contacts.

Anyone *he hopes*??

Specsavers will do you some goggles to your prescription at a very reasonable price.

You can get them from Boots or any opticians - price start at approx £17 - they are brilliant - my prescription is -7 so you should have no problem. Get them - what have you got to lose?

Thanks for the replies. For that cost and the positive responses I'll go for it!
