Pre-Paid Currency Card

I am staying in San Antonio next week and was thinking about taking a Asda Pre-Paid Currency Card with me instead of Euros as I am always worried about losing them or having my them stolen.
It states in the T&C's that there is no charge by Asda for using it in the ATM's when you withdraw your cash although the ATM may impose a charge.
Has anyone used one of these cards and knows what the charges are likely to be ??
Also i have heard that the ATM's in Ibiza are always running out of cash !!!!

In an ideal word I would like to take about 300 euros with me and the rest on the card, but I don't want to get out there and
get charged a lot when using the ATM's or be unable to find a ATM to withdraw my cash. :(

Any advice will be greatly appreciated :)

I think the charge for a uk normal debit card is somewhere around 1.50euro. The exchange rates are good though. The trick is get out larger amounts so your not constantly using them but if your worrying about 1.50euro charges your not gona have a good time in Ibiza lol. Cash machines in some places do run out of cash sometimes, normaly in the evening as ppl withdraw large amounts for nights out. The big Santander in San an is probs the most reliable but it isn't too much of an issue

ok tip is draw out limit of the day 300 euro;s/plus always tick the euro box when it asked you which Currency you would like.you might as well take you bank card out with you.same rate.

I am always worried about losing them or having my them stolen.? so long as have a safe pocket to put cash in and card and only take out what you think you might spend on a day/night.no good walking round with 200 euro say in your pocket.there will be a atm near you atps hotel.nip out get some cash.get back to base camp and put the rest in a safe.i would take a visa card out with you as well with at least 3/5k on it.
