Posting images - why isn't my photo showing?

I wanted to reply to a thread with and trying to insert a photograph doesn't work using the "Insert Image" button.

I post all mine on picasa and I have the same problem, no matter how many times I take the extra bits after .jpeg it still wont post a piccie - just a link. However, whenI first started to use Picassa - posting piccies did work now it has been upgraded, it doesnt. very very annoying!!!
