I'd suggest making sure you avoid the fast food in that area. Cos there are lots of ****take-aways.

I'd reccomend somewhere but I would not want to truffle any feathers.

Sorry!

the only times I have eaten there I have been to Zaika on Kensington High st, which I dont think is far away? Michelin starred curry house, funking top quality.

And Pizza Express. There was a nice pub with a downstairs 'secret garden' smoking area at the top end of Portobello road.

My fave restaurant in Notting Hill is Geales (posh fish and chip restaurant but does other stuff) http://www.geales.com/

E&O is also very good for Asian food http://www.london-eating.co.uk/1620.htm

S&M is good for a quick daytime snack http://www.sandmcafe.co.uk/

thanks very much.

any recommends for bars?

as i said, something like Trailer Happiness is what i'm after (dont know if your familiar? it says it has 60's retro decor, is nice and comfy and has won lots of awards for it cocktails) :)

cheers ears :D

Trailer Happiness is fab, if you're wanting something along those lines then that is def you best bet in Notting Hill. On a similar vein is Beach Blanket Babylon http://www.beachblanket.co.uk/home.html

I was also going to suggest Bed Bar but it's no longer Bed Bar and is now the Fat Badger - I haven't been since it's changed so can't comment, the reviews of it look decent tho http://www.fluidfoundation.com/venuedetails.aspx?VenueID=1190
