Porsche help

Got back from Ibiza today with an annoying event unexplained so I need the help of Ibiza residents.
On Sunday I was out for a drive late afternoon and came to a junction on the main Ibiza Santa Eularia road and whilst waiting for a break in the traffic, a very nice black Porsche Cayman S turned off the main road and drove past me - followed by two more black ones and then ten grey ones, all the same model and all German registered with similar registration numbers.
Very odd I thought but moved out onto the main road and then waiting at the next junction to join the main road was a blue Porsche with several others behind it so being the nosy sod that I am, I pulled over and let a Porsche Cayenne marked "Pace car" overtake me followed by 13 blue or black Cayman S also with German plates within a few numbers of each other so I then joined on the back of the queue and followed them up around Santa Eularia, through San Carles - by which time I could see in my mirror the other thirteen mostly grey ones - and on up to San Vicente.
Lovely road for a quick car but I was struggling in my hired Ford Fusion at above 130kmph and by the time we reached San Vicente and turned left toward San Joan the rest screamed (literally) past me - great fun and a wonderful noise, but please, anyone know what was going on?

I saw them all yesterday (12th october) about thirty of them, all the same colour and same model and all with German registrations on the Santa Eulalia/Ibiza Road. Does this show a lack of German imagination that they organise a car show where all the cars are the same model and the same colour??? :D

All the Caymans that you are seeing in Ibiza are there because it is a training event for the salespeople that work at Official Porsche Centres in Europe. The Cayman is a new model from Porsche and they are familiarising the sales staff with it before it goes on sale at the end of November. I know this because I'm a potential customer and my salesman has been out in Ibiza enjoying the event.

Come what may, I'll either be driving my current Porsche Boxster or maybe a new Cayman down to Ibiza next July.
