how about cities such as london, madrid and berlin?

p.s
sorry, i meant to entitle the post "WHICH...club"...oops!

back to basics is most well known and still going strong..........

but technique/asylum at mint (basics' former home) are rising stars

In London of the 'main' clubs:

Ministry - the main room when it is going off is one of my fave places in the world - it's big and dark and loud - just how a club should be :twisted:

The End - love The End, got a bit of a dirrrrrtyyy feel about it which is always good :D

Turnmills - have a love/hate relationship with it, it's in favour at the mo and when the main room goes off it goes off proper and the lasers are fab 8O Layout does my head in tho :roll:

Fabric - just can't really get my head round this place, I've been going on and off since it very first opening, it has the potential to be good but there's always just something missing for me and it just doesn't quite get there :?

The Cross - not a club just a walkway for people to mill about and talk - ffs dance you're in a club not a conference :evil: :lol:

Pacha - not even worthy of a comment.

Agree with all those, especially The Cross, just to add to that SE1 is brilliant - went there for Hawtin 2 weeks ago and it went off, its so big and people are everywhere, it feels like you're in a proper rave! LOVE IT by far my favourite in London.

I always forget about SE1 cos a lot of the time they have hard house nights there 8O If it's full and used to it's full potential then it is like a proper old skool rave.....altho if it's not busy it can seem a bit flat - went to a Return to New York there a couple of years back and on paper it should have been brilliant but it was all bit flat :?

I love the place, know what you mean though. Only been the once and that was for Hawtin the other week and obviously it went orf - I bet it can be a bit flat if its not full.

In Sheffield .....

Best = Plug 8O 8)

2nd = Gatecrasher1 :twisted:

RIP1 = The Arches :( :( :(

RIP2 = Bed :x

RIP3 = Niche way back before it had a bad rep. Rumour's are it is to re-open soon.

there aren't any real clubs in Edmonton... there is a BAR called the Standard where they put Djs at when they come here... and its beyond pathetic.... usually quite empty but everything shuts at 2:30.... unless its a rave full of 14 year olds they hold these at the Polish Hall.. which I haven't been to in about 10 years!

Been following what these guys are doing for a while now, very promising!!

Villalobos 4 hour set this weekend! 8)

Hamburg :

Go to the Reeperbahn, the whole place in one club ! :twisted: Maybe there are not the biggest clubs with the most famous DJ`s, but in these dirty little downstairs clubs is 100% the best club atmosphere ! :p

Moscow

Slava - Great sound system, ice cannon, half-naked podium dancers - the main rooms feels almost like an Ibiza club. Had some great parties over the years, though fewer lately. Very unfortunate location (far from center).

Fabrique - Great club for dancing. Good residents. Crowd into their music. Nice oudoor terrace area in late spring/summer/early autumn.

Club XIII - Marble staircase is the most gorgeous club entrance anywhere. Beautiful club, attracts top DJs, but needs a crowd to really get going.

Mix - Tiny crowded club (with a transient problem similar to The Cross) but the best afterhours in town and great techno/tech-house residents.

Gaudi - Very large rave-size warehouse-like main room under former grain silos. Feels a bit cavernous but when they get a good DJ and big crowd in, the place goes off.

Propaganda - Smallish club but people there to dance. Best Thursday night in town. Good residents and also great choices in lesser-known visiting DJs. Reliable good time.

Plenty of other clubs in town but these are my favorites.

City: San Diego

Best Club: Bar Dynamite

Why: Most people are there for the music. They like me are House Warriors. The vibe is funky. The majority of the crowd is very down to earth. The resident DJs, Duane and Lil' Ryan (from Siesta Records) do an absolutely amazing job introducing unheard of, but yet amazing, tracks on a weekly basis. Halo drops by time and again to completely blow everyone away. Time and again again when they bring by outside blood, they are all true house heads like Brian Cabalic, Ala, Alex Alvarez, Mark Grant, Neil Aline, Marques Wyatt, King Britt, etc.

yeah remember a conversation with ya before about magda playing. line-ups are always really cutting edge and always on the money.............dc10 jocks are regulars. Ricardo should be 8O :lol:

Aberdeen

Club: Snafu...

...Very small intimate venue (only holds around 400 people), but since it opened about a year ago, they have had awesome guests nearly every weekend. The residents are great to. The crowd is very friendly, the lights very dark, and the roof is in the style of a cave8O :p :p

Sheffield - GC1 is probably the best looking club, The Plug is the best for nights. Still annoys me when people saying they are 'going to gatecrasher' to listen to 80's cheese, when everyone knows Gatecrasher is trance! *gets riled up*

Watford:

The best out of a bad bunch is probably Area. They have a house night on Saturdays which sometimes attracts big-ish DJ's i.e Graham Gold, Tall Paul etc. It's owned by Brandon Block so him and Alex P are there most weeks too.
On Fridays they sometimes have old skool garage nights with the big DJ's like EZ, Mike Ruffcut Lloyd etc. They're always really good but can be a bit rude sometimes!

As we're only 30mins from London, obviously I go to all the clubs Babs has listed too. Ministry being my fave for nights, going off and layout! But I also love the end too (as long as its not too busy). :D

Staines -

Cheekees. Yes it is as bad as it sounds....

For London you can't beat a bit of Egg action... (as well as those already mentioned)...
