Hi guys,
Probably about time we started to build a list of the best podcasts out there as it is the most easily available form of free mixes (apart from downloads kindly sent in by you lot - but we should have another sticky thread for that...).

You don't necessarily need an ipod and its free - we just need to cut the wheat from the chaff as there are a lot out there. I'll start things off with 2 i found this weekend that are great. You can find them in the iTunes podcasting directory or most good online directories....i got these 2 using the iTunes directory (which is found within the iTunes music store - but why pay when its free?!)

Slanted House - http://www.slantedhouse.com/
This one is great and they have about 6 hour and a half long mixes on there by some good US progressive dj's. High quality stuff - i liked the Holosound mix. they broadcast one every 2 weeks or so.

Amanye's Deep into House Show - http://www.amnaye.com/
I liked this one as it reminded me of early Jose Padilla mixes crossed with some good deep house.

There must be tonnes more great ones out there - lets build a list....

I'll update this with a couple more - has nobody got any other good ones yet? there are a lot but the danger is that some are really poor with bad mixing etc. To repeat - you don't need an ipod, you can download this stuff with any mp3 player and of course it is free.

Transitions with John Digweed
Obviously high quality progressive type stuff - much like his radio show. You know what you are getting here

Ministry of Sound Podcast
I'm not really into this...but you might like it...its more news based and each cast is only a few minutes long - it isn't a collection of top mixes, rather a whats new in house music.

Dj Sigmund F. Progressive House
Some guy who posts up his own mixes and they are ok...

I'll update the links to the websites later on today and will add a few more with different types of house - am aware they have all been a bit progressive so far.
ciao for now
mike.

Pete Tong
Sander Kleinenburg (though I can never connect)
Drum And Bass Arena
Erol Alkan
Trash
Carl Cox
Dancetrippin (little videos)

I love Podcasts:D

How do these Podcast thingys work?
Basically, it's like a radio show that you download and listen to at your leisure. The name comes, of course, from the iPod as the initial idea was to load them on your mp3 player and listen on the go.

What do you do? Download and listen as you'd like!

Some of them offer ways to subscribe (through iTunes, for example) so that each new edition gets downloaded to your computer automatically.

www.residentadvisor.net are now doing weekly podcasts, availible for download from thier website...

Last weeks was from the might Troy Pierce and this weeks is from Pig & Dan (Cocoon)...

so far they are more for the minimal sounds, but who knows what direction they may go in the future..
