Planning first Ibiza trip (June 2011)

I will be in Alicante studying abroad this coming summer. Me and a couple friends have already decided we will be going to Ibiza the weekend of June 17-19th. I was hoping to get a little help on making our first Ibiza trip a huge success. A few questions:

1.) Best way between Alicante and Ibiza (cheapest/easiest/quickest) Plane or Ferry?

2.) Where to stay? We are coming for the clubs. It'll depend on what is going on at each one but I think we will probably go to Amnesia as first choice, Privilege as 2nd, then ? Should we look for a place in Ibiza Town or San Antonio or somewhere else? Doesnt have to be too nice, we are on a budget and it will only be for 2 nights. Location is more important than cost.

3.) Speaking of location, the 2nd most important thing on my list of to do's is to cliff jump in Ibiza. I have seen some awesome pictures/videos and I love cliff jumping. Anything up to about 60 ft (~17m) and obviously a safe landing would be fair game. I have heard most of the good cliff jumping is on the ends of the island...based on recommendations on where to stay (Im guessing San An or Ibiza Town), where would be the best place to cliff jump on the island? I dont want a repeat of my trip to Santorini, where I thought we would have hundreds of great cliffs to jump right in front of us. Turned out that where we were there was nowhere within an hour to cliff jump (we were only there for a day).

4. Any other advice that seems relevant (tips for getting there/getting from the airport to the hotel/hostel, advice to clubbing, things to consider for that specific timeframe, things to do, etc are all appreciated).

Thanks! I cant wait

Hi Adam

Firstly, good move on planning a trip to Ibiza. You'll never forget it.

Second, take a look at the main Spotlight website. There's a special section for Ibiza virgins:
http://www.ibiza-spotlight.com/night/ibiza_virgins_i.htm
and also answers to a lot of your questions plus questions you didn't know you had.

There are ferries from Denia, a little further up the coast from Alicante. Perhaps not the quickest way to get there but probably the best option from that region.

Playa den Bossa is my area of choice for staying. Amnesia and Privilege are in the middle of the island so either PdB or San Antonio would do. However, PdB also has Space, several beach clubs, and is closer to Ibiza Town, its harbor bars & restaurants, and Pacha. San Antonio has 2 clubs (Eden, Es Paradis) as well as the Sunset Strip of bars and the West End. It depends a bit on your tastes but PdB sounds more your style. Neighboring Figuretas also has some good budget options.

In any case, get excited... and enjoy your trip! June is my favorite time on the island as it's opening party season :)

Thanks for the help. I have learned a lot by reading this website so far. Playa den Bossa looks like it could be a good option. Does anyone know of a good cliff jumping area somewhat near PnB? Accommodation recommendations? Thanks

Im only about 3 weeks away from our Ibiza trip...Im started to seriously look into booking hotels/ferry tickets. I searched Belearia, transmedditeraneo, and Aferry and couldnt find a round trip for less than 158 Euros! I thought I heard it was like 40 Euros to ferry from Denia to Ibiza. Am I missing something or is it really this expensive? If so, are flights any cheaper, because if not Ibiza may not be within our budget...

you really should of booked early.not 3 weeks away.you taking your car as well.as 158 is about right for a car.is that just for one person?.

I just looked on Belearia and I'm seeing round trips for 120 eur. Might be different days, of course.

should we buy tickets for the clubs in advance (can they sell out?) or just get them on arrival? I think we'll probably do cream opening party at amnesia on thursday night, maybe david guetta but its 70 euros cover, then not sure about fri/sat.

try a booking with directferries.came out cheaper on dates you first put.might be cheaper now you put right dates your going.16 to 19 and not 17 to 19th,
