I've told you before that I can't personally comment from experience as I've never stayed at either. But after a little reading I noticed Sol Bahia has a pool side BBQ on a Thursday, not sure what that's like (or the crowd) but sounds like a nice gesture, plus Sol Bahia is better for views of the sunset from your balcony (and just the sea/beach in general) That being said, imo it's much nicer to actually get down on the rocks most nights and see it with the mass's, but a couple of quiet sunsets would be nice times indeed. Sol Bahia is much closer to the sunset strip which I know you love so that's conveniant.
Sol Bahia
Gran Sol
On this site all the reviews of Sol Bahia are excellent too, I dunno, if they're similar prices (from what I've read) Sol Bahia seems to edge it...unless they're just better at pimping themselves
The Sol Bahia is easily the best accomodation we've had on the island and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Its clean, well equipped, air conditioned and the staff are extremely helpful and polite, without being in your face and obtrusive. Its quite quiet which is great for getting away from it all and relaxing, but an easy walk to Calo des Moro and Sunset strip. Though if you want something thats full on 24/7 its probably not for you! We're back there this September and it cant come soon enough!!!
Having said that I've not stayed at the Gran Sol so can't make a comparison!
