Photos + review Ibiza Rocks (Friday July 31): feat. Clor
Manumission’s bandwagon rolled further into the season last Friday carrying indie newbies Clor.
Barry Dobbin from Clor @ Ibiza Rocks - July 29, 2005
The little known London-townies were a late addition to the line up (they’d been trying to get ex-Stone Rose Ian Brown) and it must be said the Music Box was a little on the not very full at all side.

But consistency is not something the Manumission crew typically strive for. Nor is it something regular attendees have learned to expect, hence the lack of disappointed faces.

Clor are the ginger-froed Barry Dobbin on lead vocals and guitar, Luke Smith who does a bit of singing and axe-wielding himself, Max Taylor on bass, keyboards are courtesy of Bob Earland and drums of Harry Bennet.

Their “big” tune is the boppy yet rocky ‘Love and Pain’, both of which Clor might have experienced as they looked out over an audience bemused and beguiled in equal measures.
By the end though they’d won over everyone who appreciates tight, tuneful musicianship. Those just out to get wasted were also treated by the Manumission girls who dispensed with glassware entirely and were administering booze to the punters straight from the bottle.
