To be honest I didn't feel like going to this at all after Cocoon/Manumission/Carry On closing. I had a splitting headache after too much hierbas in the car park probably and I vommed twice after I got up.
But at around 8pm I finally made it to the Spotlight offices in San Agustin, which is not too far from the low rent mecca that is San An. A cup of coffee sorted my sore head out and the prospect of a fluffy night out in the company of fit popstrels started to seem a bit more appealing.
So with a bit of goading from forum perv-in-chief McRackin I made the call to sort out the list and headed on down for my first night out in San An this year.
Eden was pretty full and a crowd had already gathered up against the barrier erected in front of the stage. Girls Aloud were s'posed to start at 2.30am but three comes and goes and they're still not on stage.
Behind the determined fans in the front row the rest of the club is pumping to the sexy electric tunes until finally at around 3.30 the VIPs clutching glasses of champagn file in to the space in between the barrier and the stage and the Girls make their entrance.
Nadine Coyle, Cheryl Tweedy, Kimberly Walsh, Sarah Harding and Nicola Roberts look great in an unintimidating way, like you might know them or see them out and about in your town.
In fact a quick search on the internet reveals Nadine and Cheryl in particular do like a drink, but I can report that unlike me they did not appear to be suffering from the ill effects of alcohol.
The reception was ecstatic. It was such a relief to see something - anything - happening. The girls have got two really big tunes - 'Sound of the Underground' and 'Love Machine' which are still buzzing round my head like demented blowflies.
They did appear to mime at least part of the set, but it must be difficult to catch enough breath during the energetic dance routines and it's not like they're Aretha Franklin or anything.
Anyway, enough of my irrelevant 'Net chatter, here are the photos!
