It seems as if the garage on the airport road is twice as expensive as other garages on the Island.....
We filled the tank to half full (from virtually running on vapour) day before we left as we still had a bit of sightseeing to do, and we used the garage on the Avda. Dr Fleming to half fill the tank - it cost us 16€. The following day (we didnt do as much sightseeing as we planned on account of a hangover) and when we drove to the airport the level was still showing half full or thereabouts, we stopped at the garage on the way to the airport to fill it and the total cost to fill the car was 38€ -
So, whether the gauge was fooked (it was a pretty new car so doubt it) that garage is a rip off!! Fill your car away from the airport - its not gonna make much difference to the petrol level when you return the car.
