People that go and know T-Bar (in london)...

From what little I understand about it, and all I know about the place, is that they have ridiculously good dj's playing down there, it's free to get in, and it's rather f*cking good.

I'm also quite bemused that I've never really been in there when it goes off, as it sounds like quite the place I would be quite comfortable in ;), depsite the funny clothes people round that neck of the woods wear.

So to work on this T-bar virginity we're popping up there tonight, as a certain Tiga is playing. Nothing minimal, nothing trendy, nothing deep or intellegent, just good quality house music made almost exclusively by synthetic instruments.

I suppose my first question, is that if we rock up there at 7:30 (when it opens), what are our chances of getting in (i.e, before it reaches capacity)? Is it possible to have a quietish drink in there, or am I going to be surrounded by gurning messes?!

What else should I expect from the evening?! Cheers

Yep, you've just about summed it up - I used to work above there for about 6 months and we'd always go down for a drink after work, it's generally quite civilised til about 9ish and then it can either stay that way if you restrain yourself or as you can probably imagine it can quite easily go the other way

It's not fancy but plenty of seating round the side so you're not forced to be 'aving it on the dancefloor and drinks are pretty much standard London prices.

Marmite the dog ;)

Have they got Marmite back cos she was stolen  I thought they had a replacement Marmite now :?

Marmite was just the cutest thing ever, poor little thing is probably scarred for life with some of the goings on in there 8O

I have never seen Marmite, I just remember you telling me about her. I thought it was funny for a place like that to have a dog

 Marmite did exist, it wasn't me making up imaginary dogs in a katie-fuelled haze

I thought Marmite had been stolen but they got a replacement :?

I was there last night - absolutely love the place.
Surprisingly it's BRILLIANT on Friday nights too. Surprising because Shoreditch is usually pretty ****e on Friday and Saturday nights.

It really is a bit special down there - I prefer it to 90% of London's big clubs - much friendlier and the atmosphere and music are consistently amazing.

Be quick tho because the police are clamping down on all clubs in the area. My money is on the area being pretty dead in a couple of years.
Trailer trash are experiencing loads of problems and part of the reason why the T Bar shut not long ago was because of a council/police crack down.

It's a bit sad really.

I was reading about the police clamping down on the Shoreditch area

The T-Bar has only recently opened again because the police shut it down, is that right???

I would love to see Tiga tonight

Altho I guess you can see why it was closed down, I've been in there before and it's resembled a crack den with bodies all over the floor (granted that is normally on their daytime sesh's when it's more of an aftershow).

No one's answered your question either! 8O  The truth is with something like Tiga I've no idea. If you get there at 19h30 my money is on you definately getting in. ;)

I've only been there on a Sunday afternoon so no help at all I'm afraid Dan. I can see the T building from my office though ...

I love T bar. Its one of my fave places to go out in London. I've had some great nights on both friday (Ditched Disco) and sat (Phonica, and more) Always great music and plenty of relaxed people. AND its free. AND it has a funktion 1 soundsystem.

However, I believe it may have changed since it was closed and opened up again. Friends went on sat and said the atmosphere was completely different - with security wandering around everywhere, including one permanently in the toilets.

I really really really hope not.

I was in the T building today for work. I think Soho house is building it's Shoreditch version on the roof, complete with swimming pool... can anyone confirm this?

I should be going tonight, although I'm currently sat twiddling my thumbs in an office in Luton waiting for a client to produce some paperwork. Grrr! Very, very f**ked off at the moment.
