Hi,
My girlfriend and I have just booked our hols for the last 2 weeks in September for the closing parties. We’re staying at the Sirenis Jabeque in PDB. Can anyone tell me how far this is away from say, Bora Bora/Space. I was kinda hoping it might be crawling distance (1500m from town centre according to the brochure) but I gather it could be considerably more

Secondly we’re also going to hire a car as I saw more of the island in 2 weeks last year than my girlfriend has seen in 4 visits to Ibiza. Last year I hired a car for 10 days over the internet before we left. This was OK but was quite expensive and by the time I’d recovered from our first clubbing sorties we’d already paid for 3 days out of the ten without using the car! Is it best to stick with sorting car hire out before arrival or is it easy/cheaper to hire a car once in Ibiza?

36 Days and counting – at least there’s the Olympics to keep me occupied. Can’t wait now, I’ll have the chiselled body of an armchair athlete by the time I hit the beach 8)

Cheers,

Stav

Hi mate,

Cant help with the car thing, although I will be interested myself as me and my Girlfriend go in a few weeks and fancy getting a car, probably just for 1 day though.

As for Jabeque, stayed there last year and going back on the 8th Sep, really nice hotel although its actually Figueretas not PDB, the good part of that is its on the Ibiza Town side of PDB so if pushed you can walk to Pacha, 35 mins maybe ( our taxi didn’t turn up)
20 minutes walk gets you to Bora Bora, space is that bit further up, we never actually walked that far as we went straight from Def Mix at Pacha to Space.
The walk to Bora bora is ok though as its about 5 mins along the road then 15 mins along the beach.

Have a good one.

I'd say the Jabeque is more Figueretas than PDB. Yor looking at a 15 - 20 minute walk to Bora Bora, maybe a bit less if you walk up the beach way. On the plus side, that hotel looks very nice.

:D Hey Moby.. I'll be there from the 4th - 18th.

On another note - do they have a radio/cd player in the room?? :?:

I don't think they do have a cd player - certainly not mentioned in the specs.

I'm there from 27 Aug to 11 Sept.

Might bring a little portable with me then... :D you gotta have something to listen to when your getting ready!!

See ya 'round the pool Clara.. :D

Indeed! :D

You can get a portable cd player for about £20 in Dixons so I take one of those so it doesn't really matter what happens to it. And now I've got my ipod too. 8)

I couldn't bear going on holiday, especially to Ibiza without my music.

The mini Ipod was supposed to be my birthday pressie.. but you can't get them for love nor money! :(

But a cheap and cheerful CD player has to be on the cards..!

To be honest with you, I think they're a bit of a con. Sure, they're cute but they're not actually that much smaller than the standard one and at only 4GB they don't hold that much yet are the same price as the 15GB/20GB ones.

If you get them from the states you'll save a fortune. I got a 15GB one off Amazon.com for only £140 inc p&p the other week.

:? Just tried that... brilliant price.. but won't ship to the UK.. 8O Any suggestions??

Thanks, just had a look - it works out the same price as Amazon.co.uk for a new one, not refurbished at £175. Ah well! Guess I'll just have to stump up the cash!

Useful site though... :D

Nah they dont have a Cd player, just a TV which might have had radio on it, cant remember …
We just took my mates CD player which was more than loud enough to get a few irrate phone calls from the reception asking us to turn it down!
As you say you have to have some music on before you go out though

3 weeks today and I’m flying out...hopefully see you over there. :D

We are staying next door to Jabeque from 27th to 3rd Sept (Play Sol II) :)

I think this location is excellent as has already been said, you are midway between Ibiza Town (fabulous stroll along the promenade with plenty of bars). And a fab walk on the beach for Bora Bora :)

BTW if you are walking on the beach to Bora Bora, and fancy some tucker, there is a Spanish place (just before/ after :? ) the Bull Bar. Serves fantastic paella / pizas, and gets all the locals in, so must be ok :) This is our regular stop off pre Sunday's@Space, perfect to set you up until the early hours :)

Also, if you are home early for some reason any night ie; 3-4am, on the end of the road where Jabeque is (towards Bora Bora end), there are a couple of Spanish bars that seem to stay open for ever. We wandered in one night last year about 3am, and the Spanish crowd were friendly as hell. In one of the bars, the owner plied as with many free drinks and had us dancing to abba / beach boys etc etc. :D :D

Have a great time :) :)

Sounds like everyone in this area, especially with the Es Vive just over the road!

See you there! :D
