Don't ever really post on the forum but follow it religiously but just back from a day event in glasgow at the melting pot/optimo weekend. Only went the sunday but it was such a good day and the crowd were so good and everyone on top form. Got home and then saw videos online of the fan jumping over the stage in Spain to try and attack Paul Kalkbrenner thinking what the f***, how does that happen. Thought there would've been a post here already about it but none so thought i'd just ask if anyone knew more to what happened? Such a wild thing, hated watching it and felt so bad for Paul and felt he dealt with it really well from what i could see in the small 10 seconds clips. Mental. Also makes me think of the film he was in, Berlin Calling and how much I loved it.

Looked like the kid managed to access the stage completely unimpeded. Hard to tell if he just had him in a headlock or was actually trying to strangle him.

Saw a much longer video on FB this morning. Security was absolutely useless in the whole situation. The guy was off his head, took about 4 lads to get him off the stage eventually.

mostly intrigued by what drugs would make him want to throttle a DJ.

showing my age here but they used to make you hug strangers and stuff
I reckon a mix of the Colombian marching powder and horse tranquiliser would probably end up round about there. Stick in a couple of vodka red bulls and bam.

Yeah I reckon it must be a combination of things that haven't mixed well together. Still no excuse for what he's done though. Seen a few videos from different angles now and he's still trying his hardest to get back to Paul when he's getting taken away out of the left side of the stage.

in all these years, I never saw anyone actually assault a DJ (even when the room hated the music..). Wasn't the done thing, not cricket old boy. You would just moan about it instead...

I knew a couple of people who used to DJ around Soho, doing the dead end Friday gigs Harold Heath describes so well in his book. They'd get all the lairy, chizzed up office workers demanding Nelly or Ja Rule off the human jukebox in the corner, but it was more annoying than anything else.

Thinking of this, did the bloke who whacked Fat Tony get sentenced?
