Parking fine help.

I got a ticket yesterday at Cala Comte.
The parking warden told me I can walk in to any La Caixa bank and pay.

I just tried this and was told by a bank employeethat I can only pay via the rental company as I need a Spanish documen. Is this true?

I'm concerned this will incur extortionate admin fees.

Help!

I got a parking ticket in Santa Eulalia, and on the ticket it had intructions of how to pay. I did the bank visit and paid over the counter. La Caixa bank too. This was about 4 years ago so the system may have changed?

You can pay cash at La Caixa, but only on few mornings a week.

Anyway of finding out when?

They turned me away yesterday and told me as it was a rental at I could only pay via rental company as I don't have the Spanish documentation.

All sorted. Drove through Sant Josep this morning on way to the beach and paid in the town hall. Uber helpful and friendly staff.

Not surprising considering the fine is €200(€100 if you pay in a certain time).

Super expensive mistake, dearer than any London parking fine.

Could have been worse though, I was the next car in line to be towed. Now that would have been expensive.

how far over your time was you

Many yeas ago I was staying at Hotel Marfil in San Antonio. Parked the car outside on the road with many others every day. No problems. One night we had a quiet one and drove back, parked the car, woke up the next day... all the other cars were now on the opposite side of the road and ours was gone. Apparently the rule was that the side of the road you were allowed to park on changed every two weeks. Ours was therefore towed and we tracked it down to that yard on the San An - Ibiza Town road. Fined. Cheers.

I think it’s somewhst of a lottery in in Ibiza for parking fines

Where I'm staying now in Figueretes. It's all blue zone but not a pay and display machine in sight.
Ive since learned from the locals. You have to write the date and time of parking on a piece of paper and display in windscreen. You then have to change this every two hours!!!!!

I'm off out now so see if car is still there.

last time aug 17, in cala comte they were towin cars as lot of people were parked in main road  & some bloke had his car, in a big hole in the parking  (Never park close to beach, better a little far and a little 5mn walk)

Where I am on Carrer de Ramón Muntaner, according to the locals, there is no machine, all the cars in the blue zones displaying self written pieces of paper in the windscreens appear to back that up.

Its very hard to find a spot to park the car in IBZ. Figueretes is full with cars , Eivissa also. I spoke with people which gave back their
rental car , because they could not park it. They had a hotel with no parking area in Figueretes. That's the reason why I go to Es Canar ( for example ).
Santa Eularia is also a disaster.

They have to change something. The problem are not the rental cars alone. Most of the cars are
from residents ( older cars ).

yes i remember, this issue ,but still not mended since ibz closing 16? u got a P at the end but quiet pricey, i only used it one time when checking IN
white P zone became blue parking zone,

the white one close to buses close to harbor is always full,u dont have choice to park close to el diario de ibiza or Pacha P or ikea close to pacha, left side of the roundabout

sometimes i struggle to park my car just 5mn to buy some pasta av catalunia...loosing 30mn+ and then leave to another place, i just realised that after 10am its a nighmare to find place in town or only in streets b4 carrer canaries if coming from pdb/av espana number 100+...

You have to move your car after the time limit.

Its strange : Never had a parking problem in the playa d en Bossa area , but had big problems in Santa Eularia. Eivissa anyway. I read in newspaper that they want to create new free parking areas in Sata Eularia ( 500 places ) , maybe it will be better.

Its a serious problem for them : Some things ( shops for example ) did not work , because the people have no chance to reach them. They have to create some very big parking areas outside Eivisse , which you can reach as a pedestrian. For example : One in Figueretes , one in harbouer area. If they claim some money for it ( 1-3 E / hour ) its not a problem.

Add all the time in your holiday which you use for park searching. Its too much.

Our hire car disappeared one night from Bossa on a side street where are had been parked for the previous few nights. I realised when we came back from Pacha rather wide eyed, saw a police car and asked where it could be “you park on this pavement? This pavement is for pedestrians” went to the police box across from Jet and they directed me to the compound outside the airport where the cars are taken to. Fine around 200e but saved money not going through rental company. Picnic and swim gear in the car and straight over to explore more of the island...
