Pacha Mondays

Who do we think is getting the highly competitive Monday @ Pacha slot? I would guess that Pacha would want to keep the party relatively commercial in order to financially replace SHM. a few points...

As i said on another thread, Avicii/Afrojack holding nights every other week? Or maybe just one of them getting a full night every week. They are big enough now to sell. Afrojack and his electro possy would probably be the next big thing.

Laidback Luke - Super Me & You. Already a respectably established party/brand. Suits the Pacha club and despite being at Cream last year, LBL played at Pacha during the season.. which surely indicates there is no current exclusivity deal?

Guetta moving to mondays? Would mean Monday is still guarenteed at full capacity and free up Thursday slot with less pressure to sell tickets?

Any ideas spotlighters?

I think Monday night at Pacha may feature a return of Mike and Claire in some new incarnation..... but related to Manumission Mondays ;)

I feel whatever it is, it has to be big and headline grabbing..... just to piss off the Swedes. :)

Sounds good to me...:)

I like the ironic Pacha Tweets the day before SHM officially anounced the breakup.

Pacha posted links to two music videos on Nov 29 and 30.

"Who is Ready To Jump" by Chuckie and

"Breakaway" by Norman Doray. :)

Still no official announcement from Pacha on the separation and we all know how they like to merchandise ;)

I think it all depends what night of the week SHM do. If they do a Monday, then I think Pacha is going to suffer. Its never going to compete with SHM at one end, and then Circo Loco / Cocoon at the other end. So suggest they do someting totally different. e.g. an in-house night built around a theme and let it grow over a few seasons....

I personally think Pacha will do something different on Mondays..... (feel free to chip in Danny!!!!)
If SHM decide to move to Privelege (who knows yet) and Tiesto shifts (again we don't know.... apart from promoters saying on the closing night that its Tiesto's last time)... then I'm odds on they will stay play on the Monday (as it is the biggest night). Would also expect the likes of Avicii and Alesso etc to follow suit.

Laidback Luke will stay at Cream

David Guetta will keep his night on the Thursday... I don't think they exactly struggle to sell tickets for that night....... Also, looking at it from another angle, do you think Guetta and the Swedes want to go head to head.....

Just a thought :)

Maybe they'll pick up a Drum & Bass / Dubstep night?

Just a thought.

Unlikely to generate enough VIP spend I'd say :!: Maybe in a few years if a better heeled following can be tapped into and the genre becomes more fashionable.

Bez that is a great spot! lol!

Moving Guetta to Mondays, would probably ensure that they are still taking 120% capacity at 70+ per tickets regardless of whether they are up against SHM at Privilege or not. This would then theoretically mean they could push up the ticket price on a new party on the less competitive thursday. This theory works on the assumption that simple supply & demand economics works in the same way for Ibiza club nights. That of which i don't know :?

I personally think that Pacha would be more comfortable with a Guetta@Pacha vs SHM@Privilege battle than privilege would be. But i suppose both clubs would prefer it to be avoided.

.

It also works on the assumption that:

a) SHM will indeed look elsewhere for a weekly residency - so far theri official statements have just said they have exciting new plans for Ibiza - very cryptic - could they be thinking out of the box???

b) Regardless of whether they take a residency elsewhere, or not, doesn't neccessarily mean they will continue to host a Monday night slot.

I would imagine that Guetta's ego will be too big to convince him to move into the Swede's spot - it would kind of suggest he was playing second fiddle to them if Pacha suggests it. His night, love it or loathe it, is about as established as a night can get on the island, it wouldn't make sense to mess with it.

The old addage - if it ain't broke, dont fix it.

This is very true! and yea my point on Guetta v SHM was assuming Monday remained as competitive as ever and them replacing Tiesto.
