Pacha Hotel vs Es Vive Hotel

hello my friends,

I'm booking Ibiza for September this year. The other times I was there, I stayed with friends who were living and working in the island, but this time, I'm booking a hotel.

I wanted a party hotel, so I thought of Es Vive or Pacha (read about them here). Anyone who stayed in any of these hotels could tell me if they're really worth the price?

Also, I'd appreciate some advice on other hotels close to Ibiza Town.

i am a big fan of the hotel es vive
been there thrice and always had a terrific time
(cept for one small hic up one time in the foyer)
never stayed at the other one but i am ideologically apposed to pacha so might not be likeing that one

for hiccups in the foyer can i recommend a glass of water - drunk whilst standing on your head.

IIRC, that's somewhat downplaying it!

Es Vive is, quite frankly full of (unts from London. It's unlikely you'll meet anyone from outside the M25 there.

And you won't be able to sleep. Ever.

I've stayed at both and imo El Hotel is much nicer than Es Vive. The rooms at El Hotel are more like apartments so you have lounge area/kitchen area/fridge etc, the rooms at Es Vive are nothing special and very over-priced for what they are.

Similar to X-Amount said, the 2 times I stayed at Es Vive I found it to be full of coked up wannabees thinking they're something they're not

el hotel is a much more classy affair than es vive but i wouldn't describe it as a party hotel as such.

agree es vive has a reputation that does it no favours now but El hotel (maybe cos of its prices) manages to escape the es vive crowd.

aside from my bias to all things pacha, the two times i've stayed at el hotel there has been something going on there. a fashion show, some launch event for a book/cd/magazine, a presentation, and of course as a hotel guest you will be cordially invited to these events with all the champagne you can stomach. at worst you get free guestlist entry to pacha for every night you stay at the hotel;)

Agree with all of the above, plus El-hotel has 24 hour room service, great food, excellent well trained staff and good facilities. the only minus point is that the pool area isn't so good, but the beach is only a 5-10 minute walk away.

Is that true?? :?

You didn't use to (altho you got free entry if you ate in the hotel restaurant) but now the hotel only has suites not rooms and is more expensive they do offer free entrance into Pacha every night.

 So as you can see, in the scheme of things free entry to Pacha isn't that big a deal when you're paying that price

You do also get a free pacha biro, tissues and shampoo. If you throw all that in then its a bargain surely?

And don't forget the handy Pacha notebook, you'll find it very useful if you leave it by the phone and need to take a message down
