Outkast.

I'm gonna get it I think.

I've always liked their singles, and I think Hey Ya is a pop classic.

And Andre 3000 is sooo cool!

Shake it like a polaroid picture!! :D 8) :D

Jon gave me their album coz he got it free in work. I've only heard on cd as yet "Speakerboxxx". I thought it was ok, too many song links rather than actualy songs if you know what I mean (too much talking and not enough singing!)
Let's hope the other cd "The Love Below" is better!

It's a great album and has won loads of awards for the overall best of 2003.

I prefer Speakerboxx myself as it's harder, but The Love Below is completely unlike anything I've ever heard before. There's a great track Andre 3000 does called 'Just Spread Them'

I love how they fuse rap and dance music.

hey ya.......ive heard the song sooo many times now and I find it really annoying 8O

One of the most overplayed songs in the last couple of months I think!

Possibly, but I think it gets better on every listen.

I know there have been threads on this band before, but isn't Hey Ya a work of genius? :D

Has anyone got the album? Wot's it like?

really!, i thought this album and the group was just like the rest of the commercial chart scene i haven't heard the album, and don't want too, but the songs just sound like the crappy chart stuff.

why is it raved about soo much?

no thanks.

hearing there tracks played out is bad enough, but in my home..... :x 8)

What tracks have you heard? Seriously, a can't believe you dismiss it as 'chart rubbish'. It's possibly one of the most original, refreshing albums (especially rap) I've heard all year.

I have to agree with Rob on this one...don't like what ive heard already :? :?

Don't like that kind of music in general though, so that could be why

Neither do I as a rule, but I just think they're doing something completely different to the rest of their peers.

Too true!

I saw outkast in Northampton once. FACT.

(not playing, just walking down the street)

Dismissing Outkast as chart rubbish is certainly a mistake. Their style and sound is completely original. The trouble is that 'original' quickly becomes regarded as 'charty' as soon as it becomes commercially successful.

I was completely in love with 'Hey ya' a couple of months ago, but it does now wind me up a bit, just becasue I've heard it sooo much. The ablum however is brilliant (who else has ever produced two 'solo' albums and put them together as a group project for start) and the next single (much mellower than Hey Ya) is excellent.

Its the first 'Hip Hop' (very loosly) album to ever win 'Best Album' at the grammys too.
