opening parties Ushuaia, Space, DC10

I'm sure someone's said something about it but can't find it!....

What time does Ushuaia opening start?
 
i'm curious about ushuaia this year. if there are really no dice and luciano residencies will they be playing the opening? who will be headlining?
with space it's always interesting whether cox and hawtin are there. both play in detroit that weekend which doesn't make a space-appearance impossible but maybe unlikely.

On Ushuaia, you do raise an interesting point. Ushuaia's Opening and Closings have always been more on the "underground" side of things. This year it looks like that apart from Saturday with ANTS, its full-on hand-in-the-air candy commercial EDM stuff. So will their opening and closings reflect this, or will they roll out some EDM acts for that?

On Space, not sure Hawtin has ever played the Opening, though has done the last two closings. Cox wasn't at the opening last year either!
 
I reckon they won't change much with the Openings party as they've gotta cater for the crowd already on the island which is by-and-large not your commercial, EDM-loving partygoer. With that in mind, I predict some of the Ant regulars:Andrea Oliva, UNER, Nic Fanciulli maybe throw in a bit of Joris Voorn, Maya jane Coles.

I don't know anything, I'm just speculating haha.
 
Actually, scrap the last. Of course Joris & MJC are doing Amnesia. It briefly slipped my mind! Assume that the headline acts have exclusivity agreements in place with the clubs Re: Opening parties?
 
I hope ushuaia isn't goin down the commercial route. Don't think I could stand an evening with guetta or the likes???
 
Been to these 3 openings last year and doing them again this year !
Who else from here is going for the Trio openings (or less)?
 
Never done openings before so not really sure what to expect. Can't wait tho. Ushuaia and space tickets purchased. Just waiting on dc10.......94 days and counting!

Not sure Luciano, Used & Abused and ANTS (and Tong on some non Commercial nights) were pushing a commercial route last year!

This year the weekly line-ups by all accounts will be FULL-ON EDM. FMIF, Hardwell, Departures???, ASOT, Avicci etc etc. That's 5 nights! So leaves Ants as the only less-commercial night. No idea what the plans are for Friday's if Tong has left Ibiza.

I still think from a business perspective Ushuaia are probably doing the right thing in July and August - pack the place out and give the kids and holiday makers what they want. And Luciano and Loco Dice hardly helped themselfs last year with their nights by tarting at every other techno party on the island......

I don't think the EDM bubble is over, but in the way that over the last two years everyone on the more underground side of things thought they could start their own parties - and it got to saturation point. Will be interesting with Ushuaia and by the looks of things Pacha increasing their EDM nights if some of these parties could struggle! Maybe not this year.... but be interesting to watch this pan-out...
