On Airport Full-Full Car Hire Recommendations

Hi,

Can any one recommend a good on airport car hire company that offer full-full fuel?

I already have an excess policy, and am happy to put down the excess deposit on my credit card.

Hopefully someone has had a good experience and can recommend a good company to use.

Thanks
Joe

Atesa/Enterprise, Hertz, Avis and Europcar all have their cars in the car park opposite the terminal building, so no need to get a bus or rely on cars being delivered. All can also be returned out of hours by dropping keys in to either the terminal or the car park depending on the company. I personally use Atesa/Enterprise where possible because although their collection procedure is a bit long-winded (you get contract in-terminal then keys from the desk in the car park building rather than keys in the terminal) the staff have a sense of humour and recognize me every year. I've never had a damage claim assessed by them and they have a tool which measures scratches, dents etc so these are only charged if significant and over a certain diameter. Much less hasstle than arguing the toss over how they feel on the day as with the likes of Europcar and on collection you only need to worry about recording significant damage on the contract paperwork.

I used Hiper, which offer a full-full service and I was very impressed.. they also waived the €500 deposit on the car and gave me an upgrade! Would definitely use them again.

Would also recommend Hiper. Full to full, they don't take a deposit so long as you pay up front on a credit card and have been fairly understanding when i took the cars back slightly damaged (neither time my fault! :spank:). Used them 4 times now with no issues and reasonably priced.

I usually email them direct for a quote -

I've used them a fair bit too in the past, never had a problem. However you have to return cars during their operating hours / pay out-of hours surcharges which doesn't always fit with late night flights home or later arrivals. Also you have to get a lift up to their depot using a minibus guy in the open air parking lot and do the collection there, and get a drive back to the terminal so it's very close but not exactly "in terminal". Plus their cars are very much on the older side compared to the bigger companies.

That said, I FAR prefer Hiper to the likes of Centauro, Goldcar, BK etc. and their depot is much closer to the terminal just off the airport access roundabout. Moto Luis are reliable and bring the car to you but I always found them considerably more expensive than the cheapest deals from the big companies, and they don't keep cars on-site at the airport. Plus they shut off their online bookings several days before a hire start date so hopeless for last-minute trips booked at 1am (which mine almost always are) !

Word of caution - the in-terminal desks close between 11pm and 11.30pm depending on the company so if your flight gets in at some ungodly hour where you'll clear baggage after 11pm you'll have trouble finding anyone to rent from with a desk in the terminal. BK used to stay open 'till 2am via a pre-arranged shuttlebus collection, as a last resort. For a hefty fee !!
