...so please bear with me if i have posted in the wrong place. Basically, me and my boyfriend are looking to book a holiday ASAP to go away early September. We would both like to go to Ibiza but i wanted to know, is it the kind of place a couple can go? we're only 21 and 23 so we do want to go clubbing but after watching programmes like club reps it makes me wonder if it would be any good just the 2 of us or would you have to go in a big group?

Could anyone give me any advice on whether we should even consider going just the two of us or should we go another year when we go away with mates?

Has anyone on this forum ever been with just their partner? if so was it any good?

Sorry if that seems like a weird question but i want a really good holiday cuz i aint been away in over 2 years!! 8O lol

Cheers

Depends what you want really, Club Reps I don't think has done an Ibiza one ( ? ), I think it's Valaraki. Basically that programme somes up like 1% of the island, well 99 % to some people. Ibiza has one strip like that, the proper clubs are all over everywhere on the Island and isn't all lagerboys shouting if you want serious clubbing. As for couples I think it would be perfect, i. e. loadsa nice restaurants and bars and sunsets etc. And loadsa people go as couples and you'll probably meet up with other like minded couples too. It really is what you make it. :D And if you want what you saw on Club Reps, then it has that too, although that's not the nicest of places to take your lady / fella.

Just to add...

DO IT, I'll bet you £100 right now you won't regret it... Seriously, I need the money. PayPal okay ?

you're probably referring to ibiza uncovered. it didn't represent ibiza as it is at all, instead going for shock tactics to get viewers. most users of this forum grimace when the words ibiza uncovered are spoken together! as polack says, theres a small strip of pubs and small clubs (you wont believe how small this area is if you watched ibiza uncovered, theyd have you thinking it was the wholse island!) in the west end of san antonio but even thats not as bad as its made out to be. still, you'd probably be better off going staying in the bay, or in ibiza town or playa den bossa. if you stay in san an theres some cool bar/clubs like hush/plastik/savannah to check out as well as the infamous sunset strip and of course the wonderful sunsets.

its also very easy to make friends in ibiza, you cant go to ibiza and not make friends, it just doesnt happen! its a wonderful place. i tried to convince my girlfriend for years to go with me but she wouldn't, and i ended up not going in all that time, only when we split up. i think you'd have a wonderful time there. this board is full of stories of couples who have gone out there and came back engaged they were so in love with the place and each other.

clubs are fantastic and nothing like the meat markets back home. heres a tip though, the main section of this website has loads of hotels and apartments to suit all budgets. if you can arrange your own flights id highly recommend booking off here. package tours tend to leave you a day and a half short. this september im flying out on the 24th for we love sundays closing at space. im paying £130 return (including taxes) for my flights, and my room between me and my pal yvonne is costing £130, so thats just £65 each for 7 nights.

id also recommend hiring a car, as it gets you out and about to all the special places on the island. im getting one for the whole week again but even a day or two out and about is great fun. you may even meet others out there who will hire with you to save costs, thats what me and my pal chris did in 2004, easily the best day of the holiday. theres some others chipping in with me and yvonne and its costing us all an extra £30 for the week. hardly extortionate considering the benefits of having one for 7 days!

also, remember to keep coming back here on a daily basis (should you decide to go of course) to get yourself super excited about it, and get a feel for whats happening around the island when you get there. this is the number one resource for info about the island, and you'll benefit from others' experience and recomendations like i have for the past 2 years.

I just came back from a holiday there with a girlie friend and I've already told hubby he's coming with me next year!!! I can't wait to go back with him... lying on the beach in the day, watching a beautiful sunset with a jug of sangria and some good food, then partying with the one I love... (pass the bucket, I know!). If you're used to going out clubbing just the two of you, or even if you're not, you're guaranteed to have a great time. I'd say 100%, book it!

I go every year with my hubby (he's just such a laugh for going clubbing with - and I also need a sensible adult with so he fits the bill for fun and keeping me on the straight and narrow if necessary  ).

We do meet up with others when we are there, but equally, if we met up with no one for a fortnight and stayed as a couple, we would still have a great holiday in Ibiza.

Great couple things to do:-
  • romantic meals in lovely settings8)
  • drives to the north of the Island and finding small coves for skinnydipping
  • walks through Dalt Villa and getting a chance to admire the architecture and wonderful windy streets together - awesome!8O
  • drinks at Kuhmaras (a must!!) for sunset and watching the performers8)
  • Finding a non-touristy spot to watch a sunset with a couple of cold beers or a bottle of Cava (we found a cliff top one year, no one else around - just us) and snuggle up watching a beautiful sunset together. 8)
Ignore Ibiza Uncovered or any programmes like that, they really do not show Ibiza in its true light - so much more than drinking games, reps and half dressed men and women falling down in the street..... that's one small area (and I mean small) of the Island..... Enjoy!!!!

Definitely go as a couple, you can't beat clubbing and all the post-clubbing minxiness with your babe :D

We've been going as a couple for the last 7 years and I wouldn't change it for the world, we always have friends over there at some points of our holiday so we get the best of both worlds, you'll end up meeting lots of people over there as well.

As long as your both equal minded, im sure you will love going together. I met heaps of couples there who were having a great time. Just Release Yourselves :)

These damned stupid programmes, just shows what damage they do:evil:

I have been with my misus to Ibiza on every visit and as most have already said, I wouldn't change that for the world. If one of you has more stamina than the other, chances are one of you will end up clubbing on your own (or with new friends) at some point. This always happens to me as the misus can't do too much afterparty stuff!!

The only problems you are likely to face is the inevitable "Ibiza addiction", once you have been once, it's virtually impossible to stop:lol:.

Oh jeez, to be 21 again.....

As everyone else has already made clear, you should definately go!

Ibiza is perfect for couples. So much so that I'm going there for my honeymoon in September.

Now you can't get a better endorsement than that! :)

I have that addiction now!!! and OH!! Im 23 :P

I think it would be great to go to Ibiza as a couple... never done it, but would like to. As others have said.... sooo many things to do... nice dinners, nice bars, good clubbing, great beaches..

Twice without partner.... then every time since, with partner....

Prefer doing the partner thing - but that's cause we're partners & best friends and love doing everything together....

My partner lived and worked in Ibiza for 3 years before we met. When I go, he'll be staying at home because he's still bored of the whole idea of the place. Maybe another couple of years and he'll warm up to it again.

Like somebody else said there is only 1 part that could be classed as tacky the rest of it is amazing I had a great time. I would go with a partner espec if it was someone you get along with and really have a laugh with. Cant not enjoy it!!!

I cant wait to go back!

You've all made me wanna go now. :D I've always wanted to go to ibiza but was worried that being just a couple i'd feel a bit out numbered but you've all set me mind at ease!! lol.

It was Ibiza uncovered i was thinking about but if it aint all like that i'll take your words for it....you're the experts after all!!

Thanks for all your help!!
