Its pure stupidity to run a site like that. Unless you live in russia or mexico of course. So easy to trace the owner. I'm sure it wouldnt take much to track a user who has 'donated' either. What sort of case could be brought against them is questionable though.
 
I'm sure many producers of the music we all love, Mr Stu Hirst being one, would say 'good, one less way for people to steal from me.'
 
In response to that... I am a regular user of Traxsouce and Beatport. And the amount of tracks I have bought that have for example, an appalling vocal not featured in the previews, or an unneccesarily long breakdown, it has been wasted money.

I used the site to get upfront tracks, but if I play them, I pay for them) and
I go to the clubs which pay DJ's checks.

Thanx for shoving me in the leech to the dance music industry pigeonhole tho... :roll:

(and Stu, sorry not bought any of your stuff as its not the music "i love"... I have however bought a few of Anil Chawla's tracks (who I believe uses this board on occasion) all of which I previewed by downloading 1st.

You are the ABSOLUTE exception to the rule, I think you'll find that most people simply nick it, find it's a decent enough copy, job done.

Trust me mate, if you spent THOUSANDS of pounds per year on studio fees to produce music, only for some d*ckhead to spread it around the internet, then you'd get pretty peeved as well.

And your point about only hearing small samples is a weak one, because there are plenty of other sites out there with different functionality. Check Kompakt for example, you can skip through a whole track.
 
Thanx Stu... What is the url for Kompact, i've never heard of it and cant seem to find it off Google.

I understand your frustration, it must drive you insane. But as for my weak argument. I appreciate there are other sites out there, I mainly use Beatport for its ease of use. But as for me, Joe Public to cross reference tune previews against other sites. I've not got the time dude!
