NYC -> IBZ summer 2017 fare alert

Hi all. Been a while since I posted since I couldn't make it out last season and the pain of reading/posting on spotlight was too much. I'm getting married this summer and most likely won't be able to make it out again but had the itch to look at flights when I saw NYC to Rome for 600 r/t. Currently JFK - IBZ with a short stop over in Madrid on Iberia or AA is coming up only 522 almost all season and all days. This is unreal pricing, July/August tends to be 1100-1300 for decent flights. I know there's a handful of New Yorkers on here that should def take advantage! I used hopper to price.

Hey! Always good to see a fellow NYer on here for sure.

Went last summer for about $900 roundtrip on AirBerlin in late Aug. I still have an old flight alert set up and I'm seeing flights for less than $500 for the opening parties/early May. To quote Coxy, breaks my f***ing heart.

Also, there is so much conversation about these budget airliners (Norwegian, WowAir) offering super cheap flights to Europe this summer that I wouldn't overlook getting a cheap flight to a European gateway (Paris, London, etc.) and jumping off to the island from there. Snagged a $300 to Stockholm in May, but there's talk of them being $200 or less at some points.
 
Currently over 1k return trip in July from Toronto to Barcelona which is about the same as last year, if anyone wants to know

I'd be willing to bet that'll go down more as the year progresses. A lot of the US airliners have said they'll be rolling out lower priced fares with all these budget airlines coming into play.
 
i was able to pay i think it was $750 for LA to IBZ RT last Sept - def the best i've ever gotten though a once or twice i've seen a sale in the $6XX area and i think i could have paid $6XX this time but didn't like the actual flight times for the cheapest flights...
 
I just caved in...my fiancé and I will be spending the first week of our honeymoon on our favorite beach and island. Only cost 470 for round trip on Iberia. We actually aren't using the return flights and will continue our traveling after Ibiza for a week of veg and chill in the Maldives...not 470 but it's our honeymoon:). We're already talking about friday Marco, Sunday Solomun, Monday Cocoon...still need to get married before this happens but we are almost there.
 
Oh and just for fun I chose October 11th for the return flight tix...just in case I get that itch to cross the Atlantic around Circo Loco closing time.

Cheaper then from Scandinavia.:(
 
We went to Thailand few years ago Dublin-london-stockholm-Istanbul-Bangkok..:eek: as you can imagine the return journey was a nightmare.
