This is not necessarily a review but more a tale

Dates you were there: Can't remember ! lol...oh wait. 09 of July to 14th of July. wow. What a wild one. I got there so drunk from Pamplona running of the bulls. I did not plan to be there seriously but I did since I was in Valencia for half a day.

Where you stayed (resort/hotel): This is a story that I would like to share. I came into the port of San Antonio from Valencia at about 2:pM local time. I started asking around for hostels, hotels deals, went into the tourist information desk near the egg statue and got a nice map with all of the hostels around san antonio. Methodically proceeded to go into each an every single one that I could into and crossed them out on the map as I asked for a room available. I went into locutorios to try to book one on line...nothing!. I went into places that were NOT in the map and on the internet. Nothing! Such high season obviously (need not mention) that I was out of luck for a room. I had to try however, there were places that had rooms but I would have had to sleep in the street, which I had done in Pamplona for a night. However, this was Ibiza. You don't sleep in the street period. There are no running bulls and drunken parties in the streets. IN anycase. It took about 3.5 hours of searching in San Antonio. Brits were nice enough to help me out once they found out I was Canadian, they did try to help me out with tips. Some of the were doubtful. AT this point my backpack was heavy, it weighted 22 lbs. Plus I had 2 other small bags with wine, cheese and small little things I had bought. I ended up taking the bus to Ibiza town. It was now 7:pm I got there and started looking for place and started to get darker out, I was at Vara del rey, after walking for a while at avenida de espayna and calle macabich ...the northern part of the city...I had walked so much. Basically I ended up at the part of vara del rey in front of the Canadian coffee culture cafe so tired. I remember walking up to a bunch of german guys and asked them for a hostel. There was one tucked away (not really tucked away) but it was nicely hidden in front of the park near a lot of cafes in front of the white castle. I remember coming in sweaty faced and probably paled from so much drinking and I asked for consignia or to pay 5 euros to leave my heavy bag for the night . I remember the guy was nice spoke English and said: Walk straight avenida vicente del cuervo and ask in the small hostels there. You will find a room. So I walked there , it was late 10:30 pm at this time. I had spent about 6 euros just in locutorios looking for places to stay, air bnb, hostel places etc etc. And I remember I came into this humble place. Cuartos avenida right where the guy had told me to. Met up with the guy who ran the place in the 3d floor. Francois who spoke French and was a little comforting to me since I am Canadian. I speak little French but I was happy since at least I was comforting to find someone who reminded me of Canadian culture. = ) He had one last room. It was not the greatest, but it was clean and the place was really clean. The other rooms were a little nicer, mostly French girls and later on two Valencian partiers stayed in the room closer to the washroom. I can't complain walking around 6 hours in two cities, I managed to find a very clean room with a window a bed and it was really clean. Avenida cuartos ran by Francois the french guy who smoked so much. You are awesome, thank you for saving the night from a park. So the moral of this little story, as cumbersome as it might be. I appreciated the help from local clubbers, I remember the doubtful attitude of some clubbers just because for no reason. I am not sure what vibe I gave off but it surely was non violent. I dunno. Some people are nicer than others. The strongest part of this little chapter in my story is that sometimes it is better to ask around as it sometimes proves to be more efficient.
Sometimes.

Club nights visited: Initially I thought I would not visit any nights and just use some money to do some surfing lessons or visit lots of beaches. However I ended up visiting and liking Pacha for Erick Morillo who was decent. The last two hours were decent of his set. He started played big trancey hits which is kind of weird given that he is known as a house guru.
I also visited Enter night with richie hawtin and co. at SPACE. which was the best club I have ever been to ! wow!!!!!

Best night: Space hands down. Wow!..the music policy is diverse and the night I went to Enter. The music itself was amazing!!! deep dark techno and lots of variety of techno. The visuals were great, the inclusion of technology even though I could not use it was great. What a great effort. Hands down best night for sure!

Worst night: None and I don't want to have any ever!

Best bar: I actually went into a lot of bars since I went officially to two clubs only. However I went to a beach party. I hopped from bar to bar and I did not even know which bar was which. I only paid attention to one bar's name which was bora bora near play den'bossa , because that is where the beach party was. Full of brits but the music was really good. I must have gone to like 10 bars , bought a bottle of water sat down enjoyed the music and drank my hidden bottle of calimocho along the way. Especially in that strip of playa den'bossa which is so full of little bars. I spent quite a lot of time there when I was not at the clubs. Therefore, I can't say which was the best bar because I don't remember any names! I was so drunk. lol And I am not ashamed to say so because I don't drink much at all and this was my little vacation.

Best place to eat: I was on a budget, I had a chance to eat at this argentian asador... little bbq place that was serving plates for 15 euro and they I could have done it but. Instead I bought groceries from Spar and Eureski which had amazing prices and I got to taste lots of good home grown cheese..great bread..the fruit was expensive though! wow. Like I was in Japan! but a hot japan!

Money spent: Not much for all the hoopla that I did. However I ended up spending 400 Euros. If I would have known I was going to end up in Ibiza after Valencia. I would have brought a grand! But most of it went to club tickets, food and hostel I stayed at.

Biggest regret: Not bringing enough money. Not spending more time there. Not having enough money to rent a scooter or better. Not doing surfing lessons. Not renting a boat.
Marine life and the beaches are great! the clubs are rightly secondary if not third option given all you can do.

Going back?: Of course! If I can!

Top tip: The disco bus is great! amazing. I met sweet girls that were really really nice. Especial mention to the girls from Netherlands that were friendly and were going to DC10 to see jamie jones. I know it must have seem weird, however nothing is really THAT weird in Ibiza. The bus plays more cutting edge music than north american radio, girls and guys get carried away in the beaches making out and start having sex (saw it once) while I was taking a dip..(get a room mate!). Girls are so hot everywhere. Just make sure you travel in pairs girls. If those two girls read this review. Thank you for being kind and talking to me. You were both hot and friendly. I love you, sincerely. And I saw you on the bus ride back. I was so jacked up on calimocho and red bull. kind of bugged out! - I apologize but I needed some sleep.
I love you all.

For the most part I liked Ibiza. Lots! wow! What a place!!! sincerely from the heart.

thank you for the feedback.

I hand no choice to make the decisions that I had to make once I was there.

overall I think it was a great learning experience.

...i think it was wild too..however...youmust remember that there is no public concierge service for a fee in ibiza ....and the hostels i asked did not agree to it. I had towalk with it...it was a hiking backpack anyways! I felt more like a footsoldier than anything else...i guess i could have rented a bicycle but i just was a bit dissorientec....what a laugh looking back. And also i did notknow where i was going to stay...! i walked most of san antonio and a good chunk of ibiza town. And idid not SEE a bike rental......everything i saw was car rentals....especially in ibiza town being much more uptight and yuppie kike....

Love the random decision to get on a ferry to Ibiza after mainland binge 8). Affordable accommodation has been so over-subscribed this year probably in part due to the economic situation. Ibiza has never really been a place aimed at budget travel though - there are no Youth Hostels etc. However, there are a few caves dotted about you can hitch and walk to if ever you're desperate again. Best plan to book something before you arrive even if it's on the day you travel via the internet.

On the plus side - with all that walking you probably got a great feel for both San Antoni and Ibiza Town !

So nice to see someone really feeling the love 8)

Avenida cuartos ran by Francois the french guy who smoked so much. You are awesome, thank you for saving the night from a park.

Safer to check your stuff in to the cloakroom at one of the clubs and party the night away till daylight instead ;):p .. really not a good idea to pass out in town especially in peak season - unlikely to wake up to much of your stuff left !

I am not sure what vibe I gave off but it surely was non violent. I dunno. Some people are nicer than others. The strongest part of this little chapter in my story is that sometimes it is better to ask around as it sometimes proves to be more efficient.

Especially out of the main resorts, people in Ibiza (both tourists and locals) are on the whole a really nice bunch and only too happy to help you out if you wind up in trouble.

What a great night to pick - definitely my favourite so far this year - it's an exceptionally good party 8). Used to go out with the best of intentions sometimes to just be healthy and sporty and not go out drinking all night... but have never managed it in season  ! But actually not  at all - dancing all night is one of the best workouts you can ever get and way more exercise than you'd get doing pretty much anything other than running a marathon ! Next time do the surfing lessons as well not instead - it's all a frame of mind :p

Nah - you can do it all ... but have to drink cheaply to leave enough money to pay the boat hire guy and the surf dude :p

however nothing is really THAT weird in Ibiza.

Really - almost anything seems normal there !

The bus plays more cutting edge music than north american radio

F***king great, isn't it ? 8)

... and just how long did it take you to find yours ? :spank:  ... it happens because people share apartments etc and can't go back to them if they meet someone and get horny :!: I've nothing against people having sex in the open air personally - but would rather they were reasonably discreet about it. Sometimes after enough drinks they just lose the plot a bit about where is a suitable spot :spank:

wow! What a place!!! sincerely from the heart.

See you there again soon 8)

Hmm, also.. my hostel was not a dungeon by any means.

It was right beside Zara, I actually got a cool shirt there. Blanco, the theather, the mall , vara del rey were a probably less than 100 meters walking distance. Surely there are better hotels and you can be picky. Quality itself is not measured just by how good things look but by the time that you have, the atmosphere and also the price hole it brings to your budget and how much that itself provides your freedom. With that in mind I would sincerely give my little hostel about a 7/10.

I believe that Ibiza town, itself, being a bit more cosmopolitan than San Antonio in this sense has to cater to a broader category of travelers. It is like staying at the most expensive part of the city, I believe this is good city planning in itself. It is an inclusion of diversity and that in itself makes this parts of cities less uptight, rigid and uniformed in terms of class structure. Within my hostel there were three Madrileñas from a well known university in Madrid. I am so sorry I did not get a chance to meet them, they were all very good looking. Two french girls whom were uptight. (figures)
Two cool Valencian guys whom I was supposed to party with but they ended up going to Privilege instead of Space. If you guys read this...

I hope they see this.

Long live Ibiza vibe!!!! I love you all that I met and were cool with me!

Balls to you going solo and on a whim!

I've been fortunate to do that a few times and it really built something in me like a personal adventure...

Next time though, I would recommend a good plan of "want to do" knowing you will only do like 1/3 of them and try to drag some friends.

It's a pain coming from across the Atlantic but o so worth it... Spain in general is great and Ibiza is special.

Thank you mate!

I am not a robot either!! however I LOVE techno.. it is too infectious not to like it!..

Also, I originally wanted to go to Ibiza to do surfing and water sports...and maybe a free party if I could... but ended up giving into richie's night. To top not to like it or attend it.

In my opinion the best club night in the island. Just my opinion however.
