cant believe that! thats just outrageous. I would have been up and stopped that from happening straight away! but thats me im your guy at a club when ever a fight break outs im the guy who runs over the breaks it up! im the guy when I see a fight I just step in and break it up! I dont care who it is!
and in that case of a man being stabbed! I would have reacted quickly
and while doing it I would have scolded the other people in the bus for not doing anything..

I'll be honest, i get very freaked out by blood (and by the sound of it there was lots!) I would have at least phoned the emergency services but thats probably all i could have done.

Perhaps it's not right to judge the passers by as you probably don't have all the info/a good understanding of the situation ;)

yeah, I probably would have thought twice about tackilng someone with a knife, but the least i wouldve done would be call the cops, look for some back up, inform the driver, so at least they couldve contained him??

is this alondon thing?? :?

I like to think that I would have tried to help. The sad thing is that you hear so many stories about good samaritans who try to break up fights and end up getting killed.
I would have definately done everything I could to help the injured man. Some people in that story didnt want to help because they were afraid of getting their clothes dirty 8O  How selfish is that?
I only know basic first aid, but I would want to do everything I could to try and save this persons life :(

Yeah, sorry i'm aiming my anger at the people who wouldn't/didn't help the dying man or the woman who was heelping him and begging someone to help her.

From her pov when the attacker came down they didn't know what had happened and i wouldn't expect anyone to try to apprehend him if they did.

Have always stopped to help people who i think are in trouble, as well as animals! Usually just helping old drunk men who have stumbled about and fallen over!

As for getting involved on a bus, I think the girl in the story her initial reaction that it was a domestic would be most peoples reaction and they wouldn't get involved with the argument. Coffeetime - what a hero you must be! I hope you puff out your chest when breaking up all those knife fights :D I think anyone with the slightest bit of first aid training would try to help, at least if its just keeping them warm, phoning an ambulance etc. etc.

Sadly most people are indifferent - whats even more disgusting is how people stood around outside, and one even came on to take a look.

is this alondon thing??

Unfortunately, I think it is a London (or big City) thing. Im from Dublin but have lived in London for 6 years and also lived in NY and you hear of or see this kind of thing a lot.
Whenever I see any sort of incident where someone needs help, I usually go rushing in to help the person but most of the time I get grabbed back by my other half and am told to leave it. I usually stand back and assess the situation then and see how much someone really needs help and then help them if they really do. But it always amazes me how many people just look the other way.
I had a situation in NY where I was surrounded on a packed Subway train at 4pm during the day by a group of guys trying to mug me and I shouted at people for help and they all buried their heads in their newspapers.
