No More Pete Tong Essential Selection on Fridays @ Mambo ?

As many of your know Pete Tong used to host his weekly show every Friday live from Cafe Mambo in the past few summers.

This year things have changed and for far Tong had only 1 show broadcasted live form Mambo, plus as it seems he will NOT have one coming up in te next few weeks (future schedule for Essential Selection is already
published on Radio One's website and it won't be from Mambo).

All leads to one question:
How come no more Tong's Essential Selection at Mambo every Friday?

for the last few seasons hes done it from mambo (the studio upstairs at least) every friday in august.

actually the official word is that the essential selection will be at cafe mambo every friday night in august and again on the 28th september (pure pacha closing). he has was also there on the 1st june broadcasting the show.

that is 100% official
 
I saw him there twice during our trip, once just walking past, once we actually went to sit outside and listen in (although the volume seems to be too low to hear it well from the rocks this year and they are being stricter than in the past about letting people stand on the walkway)
 
I recall in the last 2-3 summers Tong had broadcasted like 10+ shows in a raw live from Mambo from the start of July till the middle of September!
 
that was a couple of years back now, last year (and i think the year before as well) was only during august and for the opening (and perhaps closing) party, as said above.

the previous 2 years he was there every week if i remember correctly.
 
I hate to say it, but the billboards that say Essential Selection at Cafe Mambo does not necessarily mean Pete Tong will be there to do it. They use advertising tricks to get you down there, but doesn't mean he is actually there live. I think when he did the 10+ shows there a couple years back, it was for Radio 1 10 years in Ibiza celebration. But unless you see something that says Pete Tong will be live at Mambo for the Essential Selection, take it with a grain of salt.
