No more Jaded @ Cable

It's all over, folks. London's best Sunday after-hours is no more at Cable. Hopefully a new venue but this is a very sad loss to the scene - it was the best after-hours the City has seen in recent years by a square mile.

"Hello Jaded People,
We have some sad news to drop on you this rainy Friday afternoon. We were hoping to bring you one last Cable party this Sunday morning, but due to circumstances beyond our control, Jaded is unable to do more afterhours at Cable. That means the extended session we had planned for this Sunday morning with Truncate is now not going ahead, and we'll be announcing our new home in due course. Please hang on to your membership cards and we'll see you very soon!

Ray will be seeing our Berlin friends at Katerholzig this Saturday and for our London chums, Krista will be leading a march to the Davide Squillace showcase at Village Underground on Saturday. Guestlist details below.

Love from the entire Jaded team, we'll be in touch very soon!

They don't wanna rest on their laurels too long - Dawn at Lightbox is a cracking contender to take the afterhours slot as thee place to be.

Yeah each week they have been saying more n more to be considerate when leaving etc. think the council/residents have had their eye in it for a while. I think jaded will continue in some form but not with the hours and freedom they enjoyed at Cable and AKA before that. Doesn't surprise me but a big shame and def a sign of the times.

Thinking about it I rkn there's a good chance they may end up back at Egg where ibthinkbthey did parties for a while some years ago. One of the few places with a long standing proper late license

They did, was the first place they where at

Just didn't seem right coming out of Cable at 6am this morning and not having to queue to get back in again. Jaded @ Cable will be missed. F*&k the council!

Vauxhall doesn't seem to have so many issues with the council so they may end up there. The after party at cable on a Saturday has already relocated to Area club in vauxhall. Cable was perfect though.not too clubby and quite raw. Will b missed

Hope they don't wind up at the Egg. It's got a Provincial club glitz to the place that's not London dungeon enough for me at all. It too "nice".

I think the basement room in Egg is a perfect place for an after hours gathering - plenty of exposed brick and sweaty walls (joke). Good thing about Egg too is that it attracts less 18 year olds :) But Cable was always perfect for it...

In fairness, there were some interesting people last time I went to the Egg - loads of bad boys and girls. It's just the setting and whole feel of the venue, entrance etc. is so kitsch it's hard to rationalize with the parties sometimes held in there. It's really hard to explain - I'm just not sure I'd bother going .. an after-hours has to be somewhere you really are happy to be.

Yup. I didn't bother going there for anything other than after-hours - it really came into its own after 5am (imho !). Pin stripe free too .. I'm very open minded about how people dress but have to admit that although I had nothing whatsoever against people wearing suit trousers and white shirts when they're well into the music and clearly renegades at heart, suits kind of make a place feel like overspill from the City's bars. I feel this at MOS sometimes as well as the Egg. It just changes the whole tone of a place and after a while always wind up wishing I was somewhere .... well .... OK - spit it out - different ! Maybe a Jaded crowd in there would change things a bit but it'll never be my favourite venue - it's just all a bit too "nice"

Car Parks get away with it, but there are times I do start to dream of exposed rusting RCB lintles, devastated floors, preferably some derelict plant & machinery - maybe a few more broken windows nearby - to go with a discreet DJ booth and a huge F*** OFF sound system ...

yeah i think cable is a decent club but as an after hours place it excelled. Egg can be pretty questionable on all fronts but it is in middle of nowhere so has held on to its license and they have been doing parties long into sundays for years
