If you were not going to Ibiza where would you go and why?

I would go to Jamaica the food and coffee are great. It does not have the party atmosphere of Ibiza but I love reggae music.

where wouldnt i go is a more likely question for me, but i cant really think of anywhere i wouldnt go.

Wouldnt mind going on a do nothing but lay on a beach holiday
more camping holidays in europe
A few days in new york or Reykjavik
Japan

i would love to go to australia, my sister is living in brisbane at the moment and also my cousin is spending the next 18 months driving around the coast, i hear amazing stories every week

My list is endless.

As much as I love Ibiza, I can't help but feel I' m missing out on other places.

Right now I'm keen to go to
-Brazil
-Colombia
-countries in West Africa
-South Africa
-India

and the list goes on..

They all have their own reasons.

Ibiza is an easy holiday. It is great fun, and i love it, but is certainly not a challenge or an adventure, nor do you really see anything that different, as I would if I were to go to Bhutan or Eritrea ( two other places which would be on my list!)

I have to agree but when i dont go to ibiza i get withdrawal syptoms. We all need 4 holidays a year. or do a round the world trip lasting several years.

I like going on winter holidays now as I can make full use of the sun here all summer! 8)

This Oct onwards I would like to go Asturias in the north of Spain again to drink lots of cider, eat masses amounts of fabada and feel all snuggly in a cute cottage! :D

 I agree.. I even think things like "is it worth quitting my job if I can't go to Ibiza??"

But then because I have to traverse across the Atlantic just to get there, I spend more money on going halfway around the world just to go to some little island, and I ask myself, is it worth it?

If I lived nearer, I could go to Ibiza AND do a proper, challenging , adventurous holiday!

what are holiday entitlements like in canada then?

Like anywhere ... depends on where you work and the boss.. its more of a financial thing. I find if I go to ibiza, I need more than two weeks with days on both sides... and then I need more time for my 'adventurous' holiday!

just asked because i only found out how bad holiday entitlement is in the USA when my husbands cousin basically used up all her holidays to come to our wedding.

Yeah some places are as bad as that. Where I used to work you start off with 3 weeks plus about a week and a half where they close down for Christmas. So just over 4 weeks,

I have heard horrible things about the States where its 10 days including Christmas!

I think a more appropriate question is, where do I NOT want to go?
(the answer would be limited to warzones and snake-infested jungles )

Some of the more pressing travel ideas, in no particular order, are:
- Mt Kilimanjaro
- Brazil
- Peru
- Hong Kong/Beijing/Shanghai
- Thailand
- Goa
- Tokyo
- New Orleans
- Athens

the list goes on...

Next on my list is india. Would love to do south america too.

And when I can afford it I'd love to do Japan properly.
