Niche (Sheffield) raided

Niche allnighter in Sheffield raided last saturday by 300, yes 300 cops!!

Apparently they came in cars, on buses and by helicopter.

End result was 12 people arrested

OK, the place has a bad reputation from the shooting, stabbings etc but to waste such resources (10% of the city's police force) on tracking down a few dealers seems utterly ridicolous!

id say it was probably a good thing. chances are they were working on good intelligence. if that saved some innocent bystander from getting shot accidentally in the future then of course its a good thing.

Used to go lots in the past as an afters for Love2Be, early GC's etc. Always felt safe as i knew most of the people in there but i can understand why people are frightened to go.

It was absolutely brilliant at one time until the music policy changed to speed garage and the ganster element moved in in full force.

I could tell you some stories about that place.

I'm with fatphilb on this one. It's always the innocent bystander that gets caught in the middle.

The shooting/stabbings have been under control for some time now since the metal detectors etc.

Common consensus is they were after drugs/dealers but found very little.

Shame, in the very early days it was easily as good as DC10 (better IMO). Indoor/outdoor areas etc and lots of very colourful characters

Alfredo once did a set there - it was hypnotic!

It was all great until rolling out of there 11am Sunday morning and suddenly feeling very wrong (as they say).
