newbie to ibiza

guys ,as my title says, i am a newbie to ibiza . It will be my first time to visit this famous crazy place. As you can guess, since i am a newbie, i have several questions. If my questions are already been asked by previous posters, i am sorry. If you show some patience and answer them, i appreciate your help. I did some search over the google but i always give much respect and appreciation to people's own life experiences.

Here are my questions.

1) I am coming with my male friends. We are totally 4 guys againg 24 to 25. Is there any restrictions in clubs, bars or beaches for lonely guys :) ? I ask this question because in some places, they do not allow guys without any girlfriends into clubs because of some issues. Is that rule applies in ibiza ??

2) From my readings, san antonio and ibiza town are the most famous clubbing places. We all like pop music mostly 80's , 90's and current pop music. What are the best clubs that we should see.

3) What to eat and where to eat economically ? Any fast food places ?

4) which beaches are the most popular ones?

5) We are all 24 to 25 years old. All single and expect to stay in a hotel that young people stays. Which hotels are in this category in town or san antonio?

If you give some tips , I really appreciate them thanks in advance

All tips you can find on www.ibiza-spotlight.com

i think your first question's funny:D :D but you won't have any problems getting in anywhere as just a group of lads.

the clubs don't play any pop music but i'm sure you'll find somewhere we're you'll like the music. you should go to a club anyway, i think you'd enjoy it but if not then there are lots of bars.

there are lots of places to eat that aren't expensive, and there's a macdonalds, burgerking, kfc, pizza hut etc in san an and ibiza town if thats what you mean by fastfood.

i can't really help you with beaches, you should use the search option on the forum for this. you should be able to find some recomendations for good hotels on the forum as well.

let us know when you book somewhere.
have fun!!! :D

A little bit of misinformation and judgement in the previous couple of answers.

1) restrictions
I understand your first question. In some clubs in some parts of the world, they try to keep the ratio even (or make sure there are more girls than boys) by turning away people at the door especially large groups of guys.

That is not the case in Ibiza. In the big clubs, buy a ticket and you're in. Smaller clubs don't care either.

2) pop music clubbing
The larger clubs that you'll see people on these forums talking about most (Pacha, El Divino, Space, Amnesia, Privilege, Es Paradis, Eden and the beach club Bora Bora) are all focused on electronic dance music (house, techno and trance)

But, you will find that some of them play different music in their 2nd or 3rd rooms on some nights. Pacha on Mondays, for example, has r&b/hip-hop going in their 2nd room (the Global Room). That might work for you.

Your other choice would be to go to some of the bars and smaller clubs that you'll find around San Antonio (in the West End and Bay) and Playa den Bossa.

Still, I'd recommend you consider trying out some of the house music nights. You might like them ;) For more commercial music you could try nights like Hed Kandi @ El Divino or Subliminal with Erick Morillo @ Pacha.

3) food
There's plenty to eat and all ranges. Fast food places and supermarkets with sandwiches where you can eat for less than 5 euros. Small cafes and tourist-focussed places where a meal will cost you 10 euros. Or you can go to restaurants across the range. For some of the nicer places, check out www.ibiza-restaurants.com. You should treat yourself to a good meal of Ibaceno or Meditteranean cuisine at least once!

4) beaches
The longest straightest beach on the island is Playa den Bossa which is quite popular. There are also tons of smaller beaches all around the island so I recommend doing a bit of research (http://www.ibiza-spotlight.com/beaches_i.htm), renting a car and checking them out.

5) hotels
Anywhere you stay in San Antonio, San Antonio Bay, Playa den Bossa, Figueretas and Talamanca will have young people or a mix of people so don't worry. It's a bit more family oriented on the northeast side of the island (Santa Eulalia, Es Cana) but those areas aren't convenient to the clubbing you appear to want to get up to. Check out the town guides for more info on where to stay: http://www.ibiza-spotlight.com/resort_guide_i.htm (or search the forum as there have been a few threads with debates on San An vs Playa den Bossa)

phew... said my 2 cents. feeling helpful today

i don't think i gave any misinformation or judgement?
i thought the reply by tigersp was a little harsh.

your post says what i meant but a little more detailed! :)

You said the clubs don't play any pop music. It's not widespread (at the bigger clubs) but it is there.

....and you labeled his first question as "funny", but in some places this is a serious concern. Where I live, it's best not to show up at a club with a big group of guys if you want to get in.

ok, so i was a little general with the pop music answer. what i meant was you won't find pure 80's 90's pop music in the big clubs. but there will be something similar - sort of, in some, so you should still go. i agree with your suggestion of a more commercial house night.

and i do think the question is funny. but i'm not saying that it doesn't happen anywhere.

anyway, i'm glad someone has given him some decent answers.
