New York New York

If you can get there, go out to Brighton Beach in Brooklyn. It's the Russian part of town. Totally fun!

Check out the Prada store in SoHo. Even if you aren't going to buy anything (at those prices, I wouldn't), it is a museum to design.

There's a nice little all you can eat sushi place on 72nd just east of the intersection of Broadway and Amsterdam.

Not far from there is the place where you can rent a boat and take a ride around a small lake in Central Park. I rather enjoyed that.

It's on our lists:
- NBA Game, Nicks vs Spurs 8) When we went we couldn't get tickets for the Nicks because the tickets are so hard to come by. Instead we went the following night to one of the college games which was excellent entertainment and MSG was almost full :D
- Guggenheim Museum This for us was a huge dissappoinment for us, after queing to get in it was just awful, the art (or 95%) was so obscure that it really offered me no enjoyment whatsover.IMO it is full of pretentious people who pretend to be into it or understand it, maybe the time we went was a particulary poor "display" but I cannot emphasise how annoyed we were for wasting the time and money on it

I would second what others have said on the:

Bus tour uptown and dowtown, an excellent way to see the city and the guides are first class.
Ice Skating in Central Park is fantastic (although snow may have gone by the time you are there :?:
Ferry to Statton Island and statue of Liberty (shame you can't climb up anymore)
UN tour is very interesting
Ground zero - be prepared to be very moved, it was this captured it for me:

One of the most exhilarating things about New York is just walking around the city

Lastly my favorite place is :

Said we'd go every 2 years but this time decided to go somewhere different.....if our Barcelona trip is half as good as New York , then I will be very happy

:D

I THINK that you can go up the statue of liberty again, but you have to book it well in advance and go through a lot of security. Another great restaurant is Balthazar which I think is Greenwich way. All corrections welcome ;)

Copper,

We bought our nba tickets two months ago, so we are not missing the show :D

Re to Guggenheim, it's the risk when visiting contemporary art

When are you coming to Barcelona? I imagine it's impossible to compare to New York but it's a charming city ;)

Barcelona is probably my favorite city besides NYC. I love Barcelona...

Take a stroll through Chinatown up through to Little Italy, where you can stop for a nice Italian dinner.. my favorite!

The name is escaping me right now, I'll look it up for you, but in little Italy my favorite restaurant is il Palazzo (I have to double check that for you).

Little italy isnt really authentically italian anymore. The only real little italy is in the bronx ironically! It's like a disney sortofing!
