New years weekend rundowns

Friday: Back to Oxford to take all my Christmas presents home and to go to a friends 21st birthday party. Had a fantastic time as lots of people I'd not seen for ages came up for it which was lovely.

Saturday: Up earlyish to head to london to go and see the new fella I met over the christmas period :D followed by a quick bite to eat and then to the end for Richie Hawtin and Magda, which was utterly brilliant. Really good to bump into all the usual horrible suspects I seem to bump into at every techno/shorditch/ibiza hole   - had a brilliant time there, finally got home at about 11 ready to wake up in a few hours, but naturally couldn't sleep  8O 8O 8O :?

Think I managed a couple of hours kip and then woke up to help set up for houseparty we were having. Made lots of food and had lots of cava to see in the new year, before heading to oxford's derilict bingo hall which had been taken over for a big new years eve bash. Had far too good a time, got home quite early so carried on for a bit and then tried to head back to the unofficial after party, but got stopped and questioned by police  (well, the only question they asked was how tall I was and then ran me through a police database  ) and didn't make it before it closed. My friend dave then thought it would be an excellent idea if we got the bus to london  8O which I didn't agree with but he refused to let me sleep so before I know it I'm ringing the usual suspects in london and then rolling around like a retrobate in Robders flat 8O

Work today is dandy though, despite me not getting to bed til 11. It's all about power naps on the bus to london

Happy new year everyone!

Mine was great, its always great to have 3 days off work!

Sat - just went to London to see the other half, mooched about, few drinks in pub, bit of dinner in nice italian.

Sun - spent most of the day just relaxing about, went out for some dinner early afternoon, few drinks down the pub. Then went to Funkin You at the Park Lane Hotel. Really enjoyed myself never been to something like this before, hotel was v posh, and the music was great, danced away, nearly slipped over on the slippery floor about 4 times so was stuck on the carpet, got v drunk v quickly which may not have been a great move but it was New Years Eve after all. Wanted to die on the way home, as felt v drunk, shoes were hurting, wanted to sleep etc etc

Mon - didnt feel too bad, mooched about again (its been a effortfree weekend), slept, watched telly, went home

Good weekend

And today SUCKS did not want to get out of bed

Brilliant. Brilliant. And thrice brilliant. There's nothing better to cheer me up than a strong dose of the maudlin minutiae of the chattering masses; so where can i find some as the excitement here is killing me?

Nick was it busy at The End sat? Anybody have any reports from Circo loco?

Fri: Ended up at turnmills (this is now 5 weeks running) and it was MUCH busier than i thought it would be, in fact it was the busiest night ive been to turnmils this year. Marco v was headlining and was pretty damn good.

NYE: Type at the Cross didnt disappoint, well ok sister bliss was a bit lame and didnt deserve the midnight slot she was given.
Thankfully Seb then got things going but the highlight by a mile was DESYN MASIELLO.. utterly brilliant. Up there for set of the year alongside Sasha at TDK. Thankfully they got him on for 3 hours and I didnt move from the spot right at the front till his last tune.
Im LOVING the fact more people now decide to ditch NYE clubbing becuase it meant there was plenty of room to dance in, plus it was still busy till the very end.

Bumped into nitefly too, hope you enjoyed it as much as me!

Fri - Mate was DJing at a party in Clerkenwell. Was quality, saw some unexpected old faces, got ridiculously plastered and danced to some quality tunes

Sat - Chilled...slept

Sun - Had tickets to go to the secret sundaze nye pty but decided to pop into my mates house party in Finchley Road. Was so good that gave SS a miss....there is basically a basement in his apartment block which is unused, so basically he just took it over and installed some decks et voi la....had over a hundred people in there so not sure what the residents thought

Have the nastiest bags under my eyes today though :D

yeah the end was very busy - we got there at about 10 because there were a couple of us without tickets, but they said they only had 100 tickets on the door and so my friends decided to not go in as there were at least 100 in front of us.

But once we found a decent spot near the back it wasn't so bad.

The queue for the cloak room though was a nightmare at the end as usual

Really good and completely messy, as always! Had friends up from London so started on the drinks early and headed into town for Optimo at The Fruitmarket. No buses on, so had to walk about a mile and a half to get a taxi so sobbered up en route a bit! Got in about 11.30pm so managed to get a round in at one of the absolutely mobbed bars before they closed at 11.50pm for the bells. Took our position on the dance floor and there was a real buzz as they counted down on the massive screen. Started with The Gossip's Standing in the Way of Control, just after a bizarre version of Auld Lang Syne (naturally!)

Hot Chip was the guest and sounded good. Over and Over was obviously the highlight and everyone went nuts. Fruitmarket is some venue - absolutely stunning and loads of room, despite selling out in early December. Met loads of people I hadn't seen for a while and left at 5am just as it finished to get a taxi round to some mates who'd been out to another club. All pretty crazy and stayed there until 11am as people were passing out so went back to ours to be visited by another four mates and continued the fun and games until 2am today! Feel pretty fuzzy but contemplating going out to Optimo recovery tonight!

I love Hogmanay.

Do you ever wear heels?

It's such a fun challenge when you're muntered!!! Do we have the same size feet so we can swap shoes next time we're out? 8O

I never realised how awkward it was!!! Dolly birds are such tw*ts aren't they? 8O

(please can I borrow all your shoes?) :? :? :?

I don't know how they walk in them let alone dance in them for 8 hours 8O

I shall dig out some wedges for you to borrow 8O
