Anyone been to Ibiza at new year? Was think of going out this year for a few days, as i know someone who did it last year and said it was great. Any advice on flights, best places to stay, clubs that are open would be great. Would be flying from Glasgow more than likely, but was informed that i would have to go via barcelona?? Any advice or experiences of this would be most appreciated. :)

thing you may be better off going from Stansted with Air Berlin.damm site cheaper and no stop overs.i think if enough people did this Ibiza would be nice for New year.

dont forget it wont be like the summer season - it will be dead !!
and most of the clubs shut down. i think Pacha is the only one open all year round.

yeah, thats what i heard. I would only be going for a few days maybe 29th- 2/3rd. Just fancy something different, and was told it was good last year. Anyone know where would be best to stay that time of year? Are bars in the west end still open, or do they all close at end of season? Is staying somewhere other that San An the better option? :)

my namesake is both right and wrong. it certainly won't be like summer season, and it certainly won't be dead! it's new year for goodness sake, we celebrate here like anywhere else, plus visitors get a chance to see the island as it really is - beautiful!

Pacha is the only club that's open all year and even that's only for weekends through the winter. Amnesia is generallly open new year's eve along with Underground. Space used to be open but hasn't been for the last couple of years.

It is all very different. Amnesia, for instance, is full of locals who can't afford to go during the season. What makes it particularly strange is that traditionally everybody dresses up and sees the new year in with their families. Then they go out. So Amnesia's full of all these guys in their teens and twenties dressed in dark suits and ties.

Most hotels are shut for the winter because they don't have heating. Most of the bars and restaurants which cater for tourists are also shut. You'll just find the odd bar open in the West End or Ibiza Town Marina. If you are staying I'd suggest you try for somewhere in Ibiza Town.

That said I really enjoy new year, three kings, carnival, semana santa and all the other excuses for parties that people find through the winter.
