Hey guys, just wanted to say "hi" to everyone on this awesome board!

Any helpful tips on where I could find good deals on airfares to Ibiza from Houston Tx, USA?

Would it be cheaper to fly into Spain and then into Ibiza separately?

thanks

It might well be cheaper to fly to Barcelona or London then fly from there, have a look on flight web-sites see what you can find

When coming from North America, I find the cheapest way to get to Ibiza is to go to London and get a holiday package from there. You can usually get charter flights to London from here which are usually cheaper than regular commercial flights.

Iam flying into Ibiza on Aug 3/04... The best prices I have found was a flight into London. Stay there for a day. Then take a flight from there to Ibiza. Your flight should cost about 400 us into london and another 200 us maybe less. from there into Ibiza. all round trip. So its not bad if you know where to look....

As long as you are flexible, you can get some very good deals from the london airports to ibiza, but I wouldnt leave it too long to book, prices go up regularly!

Try the likes of easyjet.com and bmibaby.com

If these sites are not any good, come back and look for a few others, I am sure you will get plenty of help here.

Thanks guys, I really appriciate everyone's help! I've done a little research and flying into london is definately the way to go. I did check out easyjet.com and bmibaby.com but it seems like they don't fly out of the U.S. I checked cheaptickets.com and best price I found was $794.00us to London.

Where can I look to findout about charter flights?

I think easyjet and bmibaby were recommended from london to ibiza, I guess British Airways would be a good bet from London to USA

I would suggest talking to a travel agent in Houston. They will be able to give you the names of Airlines that fly internationally to Houston. You might have to take a dometic flight to a major hub like Atlanta for a charter. I'm from a city (Calgary, Canada) smaller than Houston and we have various charters (Air Transat, Zoom Air) that depart on a weekly basis. I'm not quite sure if this is unique or not...maybe we have this luxury cause there are more ex-pats in Canada.

Good Luck.

Thanks Canadian Jam, I will definately look into this. This will be my first time flying out the country so all this is new to me.

Thanks again

No problem...you might want to check out eurotrip.com also. It is a good source of information and should help you out.

The absolute best price I was able to find was $800 roundtrip on British Airways. Honestly, I don't think you'll get any cheaper. I haven't looked @ any of the package deals, but expect about $300-$400 for a week's stay/person. That's @ a decent place like Jet. Let me know if you find anything cheaper but $1200 for the whole she-bang isn't that bad!

cheap fares possible

Hey Jay! Welcome to the forum! I was reading this message and so eager to chime in on this...

I'm going to Ibiza myself from Phoenix, AZ in September... I was VERY fortunate with the airfares and this is why I was so eager to chime in, to say what was possible...

British Airways ran a 2-3 day deal last November that I took advantage of that got me a round trip Phx->London for $398 including tax in Sept 2004 (it would have been maybe $500 max for the summer months)! So, it is very possible to get the price you are looking for... that those prices do exist, but might be tricky to find... best to do is continue periodically checking. However, at this point, I think it will become progressively more difficult to find a good deal from London to Ibiza rather than the US to London... Coming from Houston, I would also check American Airlines... I flew connecting to London from Phoenix last November for $460 round trip including tax, and I think AA has a hub in Dallas, so you might be able to connect through there (and direct from Dallas to London).

I was again very fortunate to see another incredible deal that British Airways was offering (2-3 day sale) that amounted to $99.10 round trip including tax from London Gatwick to Ibiza. I think EasyJet could be a good alternative otherwise, like others have mentioned, however I think they were going out of Stansted instead of Heathrow or Gatwick.

-fiz! :)
