As Summer 2006 comes to a close Fierce Angel releases its 4th stunning compilation aptly titled FIERCE ANGEL. This new collection features some of the hottest club tracks that have already been tried at tested at Fierce Angel events across the globe.

Fierce Angel is the new label from Mark Doyle who created and ran Hed Kandi until his surprise departure last year and it has been a long 12 months for the both Mark and the Fierce Angel team.

Tokyo Project was created by Mark and original members of the Hed Kandi team and this time last year the company was celebrating the end of their legal action with Hed Kandi. Shortly afterward “The Collection” was released to critical acclaim and everything seemed on track for Tokyo Project in 2006. However the story was far from over as Ministry stepped in and purchased Hed Kandi and Tokyo Project had to shut down due to the lack of finance.

Mark had a difficult decision to make, start all over again for the third time and risk every last penny he had or take a job within the industry. After long discussions with the remaining members of the team including the legendary Jason Brooks the decision was taken to prepare for the rise of FIERCE ANGEL.

Tokyo Disco was the first compilation and helped connect the dots between the Tokyo Project and Fierce Angel brands. Beach Angel showcased the deepest sun-drenched house and Es Vive confirmed the labels spiritual connection with IBIZA.

The label has spent the summer and the previous three releases building awareness across the globe and this new compilation looks set to outsell all previous releases.

Mark Doyle says, “ Fierce Angel has been a true labour of love and the last 12 months have been amongst the most difficult and most rewarding of my life. I want to thank all the people that have shown such amazing support especially all the emails of encouragement & the messages on our myspace site. I’d also like to say thanks to all the labels that have given us a truly amazing selection of tracks to include on this compilation. I hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed making it.”

So, Matt... I missed something somewhere.

When did Tokyo Project fully become Fierce Angel? Or did Doyle leave Tokyo to start this new thing? What's the scoop?

Tokyo is no more.. Really long story and a bit of a minefield that I personally speaking, am having absolutely nothing to do with..

So, no comment...

Needless to say the new album's bang on it and I've been listening to it fairly solidly since I got my grubby little paws on it last month.. It's the only funky house I listen to now...

CD's 2 and 3 are on regular rotation in my little red car...
