New Deep Dish CD: George is On

I don't think it's out in the UK til 25 July.

Will def be purchasing tho cos the Deep Dish boys are on fire at the mo :D

it doesn't seem to have the same flow as normal.... I find it a little abrasive, I am used to the boys being so smooth. Let me have a few more listens tho before I give the final opinion.

Yeah it's their new album - lauch party is in Vegas at ICE, you should go Pachagirl ;) 8) :D

that is going to be a SICK night I bet N8.

I meant to say I found some of the song choices a little weird, they don't rub me the right way for some reason

It's them as artists tho instead of mixing others tunes so you will see different influences coming in, let's just hope it's not as dire as Oakie's artist album Bunkha

All the big DJs artist albums have been shit - Oakie, Sasha, Morillo, PVD...

I'm not really a big fan of DJ artist albums, in fact I'm trying to think of one that I've actually really liked :?

Just stick at what you're good at doing

I know, it's a joke. They all blatantly get way above themselves and think they're some kind of musical god, then spend three or four years "in the studio" or "perfecting" their album....then it's invariably shit.

PMSL, so true

I remember when Oakie 'disappeared' to America to make Bunkha *substitute for eat burgers* and then after 2 years he came back with that shit which isn't even worthy of calling an album

Don't forget the good 'ol "get all your mates to help you/guest on tracks" otherwise known as doing a lot less work yourself

Didn't Oakie collaborate with one of those toerags from So Solid Crew - last seen banged up in prison

No it is not that caliber of catastrophe ;)

I agree with PachaGirl. I'm really not sure what to think thus far. It's not a mixed album..A few really housey tunes, some experimental songs with a few really chill vocal tunes thrown in. Then there's the bonus disc w/ flashdance and say hello remixes.

I saw them last night and they were fantastic!

Very much looking forward to getting my paws on Deep Dish 8)

Re: Dj artist albums - I quite enjoyed Kings of Tomorrow (Sandy Rivera) and Stonebridge.

Does Sister Bliss/Faithless count?

I listened through 3 times total today... not a fan decidedly. My heart sank a little, as I have been long anticipating this album.

Don't like the song choices, the songs are messy and noisy to me. I hate to give a somewhat negative review, because I LOVE DEEP DISH and will always be a great enthusiast of theirs!! The only songs I really enjoy so far are Say Hello of course and their Stevie Nicks "Dreams" remake. The remix bonus disc ain't even too splendid... I do dig the Say Hello mixes by Angello & Ingrosso and of course the legendary Paul Van Dyk. Bonus disc also comes with videos for Flashdance and Say Hello.

I can't think of too may artist albums I am a fan of quite frankly other than Sasha's Involver CD.

Deep Dish are pants, listen to some stuff from about 2-3 years ago thats when they where good, they have gone down the route of playing whatever is cool. I wont be getting this album.
