I was wondering if anyone who is up to date with computers could tell me if this is good for £300

CPU: INTEL PRESCOTT 3GIG 1MB CACHE Core
Motherboard : asrock p4vm8 Socket 478
Memory : 1024MB DDR400 (PC3200) DDR Memory
Video Card : SIS integrated 256-bit 3D Graphics Accelerator
Hard Drive : 160GB Ultra ATA Hard Drive ( upgrade available)
DVD-RW : 16x DVD-rw DRIVE
Network Card : 10/100 Fast Ethernet Network Controller
Modem: optional upgrade
Sound Card: CMI 9739A 5.1CHANNEL CODEC
Case : ATX Case w/ Power Supply and Front USB Ports
Keyboard / Mouse: optional
Speakers : optional
Operating System : NO OS INCLUDED, Optional Windows XP Home or Pro

Or would I be better off getting this http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/sto...437017&tabIndex=1&page=Product&fm=2&sm=6&tm=0 ??

I know the first has higher spec, but is it a better system?!

Thanks :)

Looks like a good (excellent) system to me. Id definately go for the first one.

Thanks!!

I just thought it was a bit too cheap to be true

I currently have a 667mhz processor and 17gig hard drive... DEFINITELY time to upgrade :!:

id say so :)

Im getting a 3.4 Ghz, 200GB, 1024MB Ram PC with 19" monitor in a month or two. was meant to get start of december but delay messed it up. Top of the range Dell Number. Costing me just £700 over 3 years. Tax and Interest free too. Thats if the bloody thing ever arrives. Cant wait to try it with ableton and other audio packages though. ;)

I'll probably just keep my old monitor...

I'm only wanting to spend around £300... im a poor student with no job!

That system does seem pretty good for £300 though so i'm thinking of buying it!

I'm looking forward to trying ableton properly too! The system I have justnow starts groaning when I try to run it ;)
