My Town won't have an in-town police force tonight!

My town's police force has been without a contract for the past 10 months. Recently, the mayor made budget cuts that took out overtime pay for the police force that allready lost officers, the DARE program and a K9 unit. This was the final straw. They and their wifes and other supporters are picketing and as a threat, they said that they won't work tonight (under law they don't have to since they aren't going to be paid) unless the mayor signs their contract today.

There isn't going to be anarchy; the Wayne County Sherriff's department will patrol tonight if there is going to be no local PD. Hopefully the mayor will see the light now.

Actually there's about 10. The problem got fixed. There is only about 5,800 people in my small town, but still.
