my take on prices quality and others

so here's my take (being an habitué of ibiza since 2006)...
most of the restaurants have changed hands in the past 2 years, and this at outrageous prices..
last season the consumer would still pay the premium for the experiences but this year (been there 4 times incl eastern) things start to tip over.
as an example, the mambo group purchase the legendary chiringuito in Cala Gracio (the small one not the big one in Cala Gracioneta).
i was a regular there, good food and goo prices, 6 sardines a salad and come calamari would not cost more then 25-30 EUR and cañas where priced around 2.50-3 EUR... Since 2023 they have a new concept where food is basically 5-6 times the price, a different menu and beers went up to 6.50 or 7EUR..
passed by on SAT and the restaurant was empty (same think for the beds... they where illegally charging the service fee and 2 beds and an umbrella was 61 EUR... now its back at 21... which is wat the max price set by the gov.
I have not been back to Sa Capella since the takeover... but a few friends went and said that the vibe is gone, prices are ridiculous and they don't manage to fill the place like before... we lost so many cool places which hardly will come return... the outlook for ibiza is imo not the brightest...
(BTW the chirinquito at cala gracio has been sold for 6m EUR... that is what a was told... that is an offer you can't refuse...)

Mathematically - if you can get away with having five punters at e.100 each you take in e.500, whereas 15 punters at e.30 is just e..450 and you don't have to buy in as much food or drink, and can have less staff.

So it's those that are happy to pay extortionate prices that are to blame, if no-one went then prices would fall or they'd close down.

Fully agree.. but these where places where upgrading your clientele is not easy at all…
An expansive restaurant chain change hands and keep the prices or increase them, but an affordable one will be playing with fire..
Rentals are 7-9€ a day for a small car, and we are in August when normally those prices are above 25..
Also at the clubs, there’s no cue to order drinks… I whiteness this only in 2008-9-10..

I’m seeing a correction, but might be wrong
