My second Stay in Ibiza, August 2011

I was in ibiza for the second time from august 4th to 12th...

And this second time on the island was not memorable :(

Friday: I wanted to attend the show in Ushusai for the BBC1 weekend....but I didn't succeed to get free entrances to get in :(

Saturday: my mate was too tired to go out at night after a day in Formentera :(

Sunday : I went to Eden for the judgement sundays with a special set from Eddie Haliwell and Ferry Corsten. The experience was quite good....but nothing exceptional :( I found that Eddie was not at his best...and did not succeed in my opinion to communicate with the crowd...He even seemed to be tired. Fortunately, The set of Ferry was very good :) But I do not understand why they have put the DJ Booth on the back side of the dance floor and not on the usual Dj booth :confused: I spent all the night in the middle of the main dancefloor, and I flet like being ''excluded'' from the party....that's quite a strange sensation :cry:

Tuesday: went to FullonFery@Sankeys for free....and the set of Gabriel&Dresden was fantastic...It's realy too bad to see such a party in a small club like this :spank:

Wednesday : Gatecrasher@privilege....The music was very good, especialy the set from Marco V....but the club was not full and most of the crowd was just looking around as it was a concert and taking photos without realy dancing and enjoying the party....I hate being on the dancefloor in the midle of people who seem to get bored...it gives me bad feeling :spank:

Thursday : The face@privilege....it was free before 1, but it was a very bad experience for me: I did not love the music, the people here and the way the club was prepared :( My worst night in ibiza ever !

At the end, I feel as I was unlucky this year :evil:
 
It is very sad to read such a negative review. I feel for you having spent cash intent on having a good time but ending in such misery.

I am not being critical to your comments, but I cant help think that you could have made some better decisions:

Fiday: Just because you didnt get free tickets for this event, I am sure if you looked (not even hard) you would have found an equally (and perhaps less crammed party) enjoyable experience - there is lots going on.

Saturday: Does the fact that your mate is tired preclude you from going out (making new friends) and having a good time? Remember, most folks are friendly and that would have been a good opportunity for you to spread your wings.

Sunday: I am glad you had a least a semi-good time during your holidays. I have not been to Eden for about 10 years so can not comment. I always thought it was an alright club albiet, I was not particularly taken with the clientele at that time.

Monday: Presume you actually did have a good time at Eden and had to have a day off!

Tuesday: I am not sure what you mean with the comment about it being a small club (on Wed you are complaining about the club not being full?). Surely the more intimate atmosphere is the reason why there was a good atmosphere and you enjoyed the tunes?

Wednesday : It is a real shame that the music here was for you but the crowd was not up for it - maybe, it needs people who are really into the tunes to get the rest of the crowd going?

Thursday : Not sure what to say about that as it would not be my cup of tea suffice to say, I would have moved onto somewhere else!

Sorry you have come home disappointed, hopefully next year will be better when at least you know where to stay clear of!

thanks for your comments...:) and it's clear I made bad decisions.

Maybe I was also expecting too much...Last year was so good....and then I am just disapointed.

Next time, I will surely go back to Cream in Ibiza which was last year one of my lifetime clibbing experience :)

The freak is correct with all the above.

The thing that stands out most though is that if you enjoyed Cream so much last year then why not go this time? (I used to enjoy Cream in Liverpool so much that I went religiously once a month for 3 years in the late 90's)

I also have been let down by a mate when we pre bought tix (one of those drink in our bar and we will transport you to venue 20 euro deposit things) to Amnesia back in 2009. He went all tired on me after a disco nap and we never went, but I managed to get out to Bora Bora for a few hours instead.

Some nights are also much better than others. Its all about a good average. However, I went to Pacha in 2008 for Defected (Shapeshifters) and it was not very full which had an effect on the vibe etc. so I can sympathise there.

Where were you staying etc? Were there no other dudes that you hung out with at the hotel? How old are you?
 
I did not went to cream this year because I wanted to try another party...and as I also wanted to go to gatecrasher the night before, I was affraid to be tired at the Cream...

but Gatecrasher was a quite good choice...It would have been one of my best experience if the atmosphere was better :confused:

And I forgot to tell about bora bora...I went there almost everyday before going out at night, and I found it very good :D very very good atmosphere almost every time :)

I stood in a good hotel in figueretas with my wife....and I am 34 years old with a quite big experience now in clubbing due that I am quite a dinosaur now :rolleyes: I have made such good parties all over the world (london, barcelona, new york, miami, shanghai, berlin, tokyo....etc) that I am always expecting a lot....maybe too much. And everybody knows that a good night depends on a complex alchemy between the music, the people, the atmosphere, the place and the way you are physicaly and psychologicaly....But when everything is connected, it becomes orgasmic :) and Ibiza is the best place in the world for this :)
 
this is all getting too confusing for me.

you were staying with your wife...but could not go out because your mate was tired?

what on earth is occuring here?

I recommend that next time you go alone.
 
:lol::lol::lol: My English is not good enough...I made a mistake when I wrote ''Mate''....I thought it was another word for ''girl'' or ''girlfriend'' :lol::lol:

I was just with my girl...there is nothing confusing here :lol:
 
Apart from gatecrasher all the nights sounded like you were set up for a bad time :p
I took advice here and downloaded the gatecrasher set and disliked it so didnt waste my cash. Pacha, Space, Amnesia, Privilege all have some great stuff on. Although the two nights you picked at privilege would not of been my choice also. I was there 6-13 this year to and had an amazing time but I knew what I wanted to do in advance. Do you like underground music? Or commercial? I have found most people who only want to hear chart music have a miserable time in Ibiza because the music is totally different.
I am sorry to hear it wasnt good maybe next time if you plan ahead more you can know exactly what you want to do and work around that?

I was the same and i ditched my 5 other mates and went on my own and was STILL one of the best club nights i have EVER had and to me that just says it all :D

Bring on cream next year 8)
 
Can I ask why you didn't like the small set-up of Sankeys? I personally found it amazingly refreshing as most of the clubs in Ibiza are massive superclubs and the intimate venue with a small crowd made it a far greater, underground night.
