Hey peeps

Well here goes....

Arrived to Southhampton from Jersey at about 6.30pm and went to the flybe flight connections desk as we were instructed to do so upon landing. We told the lady behind the desk that we were on the connecting flight to Ibiza and she said "Oh don't you know that there having a rave?" at first I thought she was joking and then she said "Yes, there's is a private party upstairs for all passengers going to Ibiza as it is the first flight that flybe has ever done to Ibiza, so it is kind of opening party!" so we thought happy days. Anyway we walk through into the departures hall and see two bouncers at the bottom of the stairs with a load of balloons, we showed them our boarding cards and they let us go through. We walk in and the music is pumping and we get passed a glass of champagne and a free cd. We felt like right VIP's! Anyway we walk round to where a load of people are dancing in front the dj box, and guess who is DJ'ing the one and only Judge Jules. I couldn't believe it, I mean I don't really like him but the fact that they had a famous dj there gave a brilliant start to the holiday. About 6 glasses of champagne later we were allowed to board the plane. We arrived at about 1.30am and went straight to the hotel and crashed out.

We stayed at the Gran Sol hotel in San Antonio, never stayed here before but stayed close by so we knew the location pretty well before hand. I wasn't expecting too much as it is only a 2 star, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The rooms are quite spacious and very clean, the maids cleaned and changed the bed linen and towels every day. The only complaint that I had in that area was that the cleaners came round quite early (around 8.30 to 9am) and knocked once and barged in without waiting for you to answer the door, which was quite annoying. However on the whole, the staff at reception were very nice and extremely helpful . We didn't use any of the other facilities like the pool as we preferred to go the beach. We didn't use the bar either as Coastline and Sun Sea Bar was a 2 minute walk away.

To be perfectly honest with you guys, we planned this holiday to be more of a relaxing holiday rather than a mad clubbing holiday for two reasons, the first being the lack of money and the second was that I just wanted to relax as I have been rather stressed at work recently, so I think I should warn you before hand that I certainly did not live up to my party girl name. We only went out full on clubbing for one night! I can hear you all saying lightweight but to honest I just wasn't up to it. I was much happier going out for a few drinks and having a nice meal. I know it may sound boring to some of you guys but I really enjoyed it. I think if I had been there for 2 weeks it would have been a different story.

I would give you guys a day by day review but I'm feeling a bit tired at the mo so I will give you a run down of my favourite bits from our holiday and things that I wasn't so impressed with.

Food: We ate out every night apart from the Thursday when we went out, I must say that every meal we had was gorgeous, however some were better than others. On our first night we went to S'Averdero (I hope that's how you spell it, please correct me if I'm wrong) in San Antonio on the harbour front. We sat upstairs on the roof terrace which had a lovely view looking out over the harbour. The food was delicious and the service was first class, we enjoyed it so much that we went back on our last night. We also went to Villa Mercedes in San An for my boyfriends birthday, we were going to go to Es Boldado but we decided not to in the end as my boyfriend wanted to have a few drinks and you couldn't really drive on those roads after a few. However Villa Mercedes was very nice, the food was pretty good, I had the most yummiest cheese cake I have ever tasted for desert, and the service was good too. We also ate out in Ibiza town at a restaurant on the harbour front but I didn't catch the name.
We also payed a visit to S'embarcador in San Bay as we enjoyed it there last year, but wern't that impressed this year as the staff we miserable.

Sight Seeing: I definately recommend that you hire a car in Ibiza. We have done so for our last 2 visits but this year I think we have seen more in a week than we did on our last 2 visits when we stayed for 2 weeks. This was because we were getting woken up early by the cleaners, so we went exploring in the morning and then went on the beach in the afternoon. We visited most of the little villages and my favourites were Sant Josep and Santa Eulalia. We also drove round most of the coastline of the Island and found lots of pretty little coves that were just beautiful. Unless you hire a car you just don't get to see this side of the Island which I think is definately worth a look.

Weather: The sun was shining every day which was fab and it was baking for June/July. I've got quite a good tan considering I don't normally go brown just red!

Anyway guys I'm getting tired now (hangover creeping over me from last night) and need to go to bed as I've got to go back to work tomorrow  so I will finish my review hopefully tomorrow once I've done some revision.
